I am so frustrated right now. I have a 21 F-150 XLT sport, with a 302A package. The night I bought the truck I connected my phone to the truck and connected with Android Auto and then was able to connect wirelessly on the drive home. The following day Android auto wireless stopped working I had to plug in the cord ticket Android Auto to work. About a week later my wife plugged her Pixel 3 XL into the truck and it made her phone reboot repeatedly. I also have a Pixel 3 XL and it's doing the same thing, if you plug in the phone into either the USB or the USB c in the center console it makes the phone reboot. Yesterday we just bought new Pixel 5s. Both of our phones doing the same thing. I took it to Ford today demonstrated the symptoms to the tech on both my Pixel 3 XL and my new Pixel 5 and he even found another Android phone in the shop and it did the same thing. He plugged in his Apple phone and it worked fine. He found a second Android phone in the shop and it connected and worked. He then looked at me and said "well it's working" he went and talked to the shop supervisor and then came back and said they're not going to warranty it because it is working.
I am absolutely beside myself and furious. He said the only thing he would do would be to call the Ford hotline and would get back to me. But the tech dismissed the issue and I'm sure he will just tell them that it's my own devices that's the problem.
Any suggestions? how do I get this in front of the right people who actually care that the sync4 system or usb charging systems are not working?

So to make your brand new truck do what it’s designed to do you need to downgrade your existing devices?? Am I the only one bothered by this. And apparently this downgrading advice doesn’t even solve the problem.
so I guess Ford must be able to figure out what Samsung, Google or anyone else plans to do.
This is not a Ford issue. Not even sure you can call it a device software issue either.

I don’t think it is written anywhere that improvements or revisions must stop when it all works with the auto manufacturers

definitely an oversight on all parties, but the fault of no one

hell, I have software that won’t work with my newer computers.
And. Nothing available to open the files I have in those programs

I saw some reports on reddit that non-Ford cars were also impacted (Buick, Hyundai, and even third party head units mentioned) which is why I said this is not a Ford issue. Google broke their own software and Google will need to fix it.

I don't have an Android but my understanding is that you just need to go back one version of Chrome (the web browser). It's unlikely there are any major updates you will notice are missing. They put out new versions often.

But in any case that's just the workaround until a fix is released.

All - this was addressed in the Android Auto 6.1 update. I was experiencing the issue on my 2021 F-150, but then just installed the update from APKMirror since the play store hasn't released it yet. After installing it and getting in my car, AA finally started working properly wirelessly.

Thanks very much for posting the link for Android Auto 6.1. I just installed it, and AA now works properly wirelessly.
