I’ve seen some videos on YT about shoving some nickels into the support springs for the center console lid to help it stay open on its own.

I have a ‘21 XLT with the non-work surface center console lid, and it’s infuriating that it won’t stay open on its own. After having put some nickels under the springs (which took me longer to do than I’d care to admit…), that doesn’t seem to have helped in the least. The lid still barely hangs 3-4” open instead of staying open all the way.

I tried searching here, but didn’t find anything relevant. Anyone found a fix for this rather dumb issue?

I guess each center console lid is different. I used pennies and mine stays up. Really stupid of Ford to ship trucks with this issue.

I haven't tried this yet. Did get it replaced under warranty, but it made no difference.
