Alternatives to OBDLink MX+

So I've seen quite a few threads showing how useful it is to run a wireless OBDLink app on a phone to get more info about the truck. I'm definitely wanting to follow in the wise footsteps, but then i saw that the MX+ was $140! I'm sure it's worth it, but I'm not a "car guy" in that sense. Would a more basic OBDLink Wireless module offer the same gauges that other users have shown for monitoring a Powerboost? If I'm only going to use 10% of the features in an MX+ but I can get the same gauges in a module with half the features, then it doesn't make sense to buy the $$$. Or the MX+ is my best balance of budget and features; I guess I'll find out. TIA

Well, I answered my own question by reading this article here. Turns out the Cx and Lx won’t work with ford. And I don’t really feel like playing Amazon Roullette with companies named by drunk Boggle employees. MX+ it is.

My MX+ works well. Sometimes you need to remove and add the BT transmitter, but that is rare. I use turbopilot’s setup files for my Powerboost

If $140 is too much to stomach, just wait for the MX+ to go on sale. I bought mine for around $90 IIRC.

Prime days or most holidays have decent discounts.

Great advice, although I don’t mind the cost, just trying to do due diligence on other options.
