She's my navigator, for sure.
I use the command "Alexa, route me to....... "

She's really good at it.

I actually ask her to route me "home" and "work" every commute, just to get the different scaling of the gauges on the instrument panel. I like the smaller tach and speedometer.

I tried to get her to switch to ECO mode, but that didn't work. The rear defrost worked!

I also tried to switch to Sirris XM Channel 301 but got the message I need to have a connectivity package.

I do think this is an awesome thread as to what Alexa can do inside our trucks. I have been using it to turn on the light above my garage, and that is it.

I usually am NOT using Android Auto (so not Apple ever), so Alexa will build the route in the native Sync4 navigation.

I don't remember exactly what would be different if I had Android Auto enabled and requested the same exact Alexa command. I'll try it when I leave the office and see.

I was a much bigger Android Auto fan with my Sync3 F150. And I naturally assumed that would hold true with this Gen14 truck. And I DO occasionally switch to Android Auto to verify with myself that I still prefer Sync4.

I'm far more hands-free with Sync4 than Android Auto. And there's no glaring compromise that I can think of using Sync4. But I can't say the same for Android Auto because I lose my Email Tab (custom tab) and the Google notifications for the activity on my phone aren't as elegant, in my opinion, as those same notifications are handled by Sync4.
If you use Android Auto then you are able to stream using Spotify or Amazon music which both use your existing phone data plan. If you limit yourself to Alexa then it will default to using the ford streaming plan which cost $10 per month. The Alexa directions and some of the basic alexa commands do not require you to have the ford streaming but any music request to alexa will reguire the $10 ford streaming plan. Hope this is clear and make since ....

There is a loophole. If you connect your vehicle to your phone’s hotspot (or any hotspot, home Wi-Fi when at home, etc) you can stream with Alexa without the $10 streaming plan

If you just pony up for the connected services offered for these trucks, especially with the recent 2-phone support, you have a seemingly unlimited number of methods to accomplish whatever data driven services you desire.
No need to settle or compromise if you don't want to.
