Airbag Light

Picked up my new 2023 XLT Friday evening. Was driving it Saturday night and the air bag light came on. Error code says "the restraints control module has detected a fault with the passenger seat belt anchor pretensioner circuit"... Any ideas on something to check before I take it back to the dealer?

You can check to be sure plugs are connected under seat but definitely a dealer thing to fix.

Take it to the dealer. The belt pretensioner is inside the B pillar area. There are no pretensioners on the buckle assembly. You'd have to take things apart to get to it. If this error could pop up for just the belt indicator, you could check where it plugs into the seat harness, it's not too far from where the seat belt latch attaches to the seat. I've had the seats into every little piece so I could do it on feel alone. You can give it a try to find a loose connector but a competent tech should be able to chase it down if it's easy. Odd that it'd randomly pop up but there seems to be a higher than usual number of electrical gremlins in the 23s.
