I have one of these and highly recommendI strongly recommend the Viofo A229 Pro. One of the best image sensors on the market currently, especially for the price. Also can do up to three channels (front, rear, interior) which is a huge plus.
FITCAMX Dash Cam for F-150 F-250 RAPTOR 2021-2024. It’s a built in dash cam , I have it and it’s great.Anyone recommend a dashcam for an '23 XLT Powerboost? Thanks for your time.
I believe, perhaps incorrectly, that all dashcams use a sensor suppled by one or two companies. Is it true that theres an actual difference in the sensor being used?I strongly recommend the Viofo A229 Pro. One of the best image sensors on the market currently, especially for the price. The sensor being used is only part of the equation. There is a lot of in house designed processing for the signal that drastically affects video quality between the brandsI believe, perhaps incorrectly, that all dashcams use a sensor suppled by one or two companies. Yep! That’s completely true. And I thought about mentioning that in my post, but decided to keep it simple. The sensor being used is only part of the equation. There is a lot of in house designed processing for the signal that drastically affects video quality between the brands
You're right, but I try not to make this point because people think "oh its the same sensor it'll be just as good" when they couldn't be further from the truth.Yep! That’s completely true. And I thought about mentioning that in my post, but decided to keep it simple.
You’re completely right.
My only point is that some of the dashcams seem to market themselves based on the sensor, but it turns out that most sensors come from the same semiconductor fab.
Anyway, something to be aware of.
