I have an STX without the tailgate step. I added the Amp BedStep Bumper Step to my truck based on previous experience with the same style of step on a Nissan Titan. Pro: The step is available with a trailer connected to the truck. Con: it picks up dirt in the winter.
I have this as well. I think it’s a much better option for me vs the integrated tailgate step. I can use it with a trailer hitched, can’t do that with the integrated step.

Much more versatile…….IMO

@Buyer2021 in post #13 summed it up perfectly! I too, have had both the AMP Research pull-down bumper step, and currently have the in-tailgate step. I find both to be very useful - but each with different merits.
