Adding OEM skid plates to non FX4.

Hey all, truck I'm picking up does not have skid plates. I usually order fx4s but this one checked most of my boxes with exception of skid plates. My hunting property can get nasty in some of the parts and I've been in situations where my skid plates saved my undercarriage. Anyway, is a truck with no skid plates able to have them just simply bolted on if I bought some OEM's?

You can get the raptor skid plate, talons garage makes them also. Maybe look into the ford performance tremor skid for the front. Just some thoughts.

I've added the FX4 skid plates, as well as the raptor transmission plate to my 2023 PowerBoost with no issues. Found the information on this site as to which plates, bolts, etc to order.

On my truck, yes it did. I did have to remove a small OEM skid plate and a felt undercover that was under the engine (the fx4 plate covered this area).

For the Raptor plate that partially covers the transmission, there are some coolant lines on the powerboost that prevented getting 1 bolt into place, but the plate seems to be on there good and solid.

The transfer case skid plate may have multiple variations, the one I got didn't quite line up correctly, apparently the Powerboost may have some frame crossmembers slightly further back (I got 3 of 4 bolts installed on that plate)

I didn't end up using all the bolts and u-nuts that I ordered, I can't remember exactly which ones I used though.

I didn't add a fuel tank skid plate, it looked like my Powerboost already had one.

Please keep in mind that this is only my experience, and only reflects what my truck came equipped with from the dealer (and mine is a Candian Spec Truck). The posters in the threads that I linked are what I got my knowledge from, so credit to them too

Ok, mine is a 5.0 so I shouldn't have the extra power boost stuff. I'll see what happens. I was joking with my buddy and asked him if Ford would notice if I took all the skid plates off my 22 FX4 I'm turning in, transfered them to the 23.

no bolts needed
