Anyone added the keyless entry pad to their truck that didn't come with it? I'm pretty sure they have one that just sticks on and uses a battery, but I'm wondering if the pillar mounted one could be added to an XL. Thanks!

I fix software bugs!
As the post @fordtruckman2003 provided, the upgrade is reasonably simple. Back when I added the wired key pad it took a while to get the part. I have an STX and the B-pillar covers are matte black finish. The wired key pad is gloss black. I have seen or thought I've seen they have a matte black wired key pad now. You can also replace your matte covers (more $) with gloss covers if that's your style. As far as making the cutout in the B-pillar cover, I know you can buy a template on Ebay then use a Dremel to carve it out. I bought the correct B-pillar cover with the cutout from the factory.

Any way, the one catch is routing the harness in the door. As I recall, there is only one way and getting the wired key pad molex plug in that little squarish hole in the upper door corner was a challenge. Also, don't be tempted to snap the wired key pad in the B-pillar and attach it all as one piece. It's all tight fitting, you don't want any broken tabs or leaks here. You sorta put it all together loosely all at once and finagle it all at the same time and snap it together. This and the Homelink sun visor are great upgrades IMO.

Here are the part numbers I ordered:
Applique FL3Z-1520555-TB
Keyless Lock Pad FL3Z-14A626-AF

I hope this helps.

Thank you for the replies!

I'm debating if I maybe want to swap to the gloss black pillars instead of the matte finish ones. My 13 Raptor has the matte black pillars, but my 13 Flex has the gloss black ones and the gloss black ones are very nice as well. I'd also be curious to see if there's a matte black door pad somewhere that matches the matte black pillars though.

I definitely would prefer to just purchase the pillar with the cutout instead of hacking a hole into it. It's worth the cost to me to not have to bother with it.

What forscan changes did you have to make?
I have the code card in my owners folder with the manual.
In the spreadsheet under the common tab you will see enable keypad. Those are the changes that need to be made
