You can still be for a system while acknowledging that it won't work 100% of the time though.
It only has to fail badly once.

People with their hands on the wheel fail badly regularly. Look I get it some of you don't like blue cruise and probably don't much like adaptive cruise. I think both systems have uses for themselves and I'm okay if people think differently.

Opposite situation I think similar to what others mentioned happened to me month ago. Cruising highway speed a car is in right lane turning off and I'm in center lane but truck suddenly slows down very fast. Got confused I guess. Something I'll watch for in future.

Was using adaptive cruise control yesterday in stop and go highway traffic as I usually do. Out of nowhere the car started hard accelerating toward the car in front of me. I was able to slam on the brakes and the pre collision warning came on but it was an unsettling moment.
Good to see you made it through. I NEVER use adaptive cruise in stop and go traffic. Good luck

I use the adaptive cruise and like it a lot, even with its occasional faults but I've only been able to trust the stop and go traffic part once. I've got the range set out as far as it will go and its still too late for me to trust it yet.

Please be careful, as you know nothing is perfect.

If you're coming up on stopped traffic, no, the system won't see that until too late. It says as much in the manual. When you're in stop&go, though, it's great.

Foot resting on the break the whole time, though. Someone on the Tremor boards has dash cam footage of his truck rear ending a car from a stop while on AAS.

I have always understood adaptive cruise control to be a tool that keeps you from having to continually adjust or deactivate in smoothly flowing traffic.

I rarely use it and always I turn the entire system off in stop And go and go. To expect it to keep up with repeated complete stops is misunderstanding its capabilities and intent.

Never mind I see it has a "stop and go"
Feature I've either never explored or that came after my model year. I would never trust it if I had it. same as I think playing with pre collision avoidance in some scenarios that confuse the computer has on a couple of occasions caused the system to nearly get me rear ended trying to avoid nonexistent threats in front of me.

Classic example being that it usually sees me trying to accelerate around a vehicle turning right as a looming accident. Says "Here, let me HELP you" and stomps the brakes when I'm not looking for that.

There are some areas where I just don't think they're able to make the code elaborate enough to match the adaptability of the human mind. Maybe some day, not yet. For now there are a list of things I deactivate the day I buy a car or each time I turn it on.

I have occasionally used adaptive cruise
In flowing traffic though.

i use stop and GO often in traffic, but my foot is right above brake ready to go

as far as highway speeds i use adaptive 100% of time and set distance farther as my road speeds go up.
i have had it SLOW fast when a car veers a bit to close to lane edge beside my lane

i like the added benefit of safety it gets us, but still i watch out,
it does take the stress out of long drives and crazy traffic

HOWEVER in rush hr traffic where people drive like crazy bats,. i turn it off

Just drove to and back from NH and I used adaptive cruise nearly the whole time. The only place where I didn’t was in major traffic getting back on the mass pike. It takes a lot of the stress out of driving and I’m always guarding the brake pedal and ready to take over.

I have tested the stop and go a few times and it’s definitely a new experience. I think I have some trust issues with it.

If my foot has to hover over the brake and I need to remain hyper vigilant at all times I figure that's a task I need to just do for myself.

For stop and go traffic, set your truck to eco mode. It really smooths out the accelerations. In general, any time a decent space opens up in front of you, but farther ahead there is a slow down, just plan on braking yourself. It's not AI looking two steps ahead. You can also set the cruise speed a lot lower, so it doesn't speed up as much just to hit the brakes. KInd of like semi trailers do sometimes so they don't have to change gears a bunch and wear out their brakes. Of course none of this helps keep other people from jumping in front of you...
