Just passed 5,000 miles on our 2024 5.0L STX. First Ford pickup we have owned, but had two Ford trucks for company vehicles, F-250 and F-350, both great trucks.. Had a noise in the drive train early on, the Dealership replaced the driveshaft, no other issues.

Just returned from a round trip today from Charlotte NC to Lancing MI and back today, truck ran great getting over 22MPG not towing! :)

Man, I’m loving all these good experiences! Have any of you purchased an extended warranty? I’m debating getting one once my 2025 comes in
With the cost of even replacing a DLR or headlight makes it worth it. Not counting a module that fails. To many expensive parts not to get a ESP. Just do the math as to miles per year/length of ownership and what you use the truck for.

If you plan on keeping the truck for any length of time, it is a good idea. The cost of repairs can be high and you cannot just plug in a $12 headlight anymore.

Some will tell you if you never have an issue it is a waste but that is not how I choose to look at it. I look at it this way.

If I have issues with the truck after the regular warranty runs out, this will pay for itself. If I do not have any issues with the truck that means I had 10 years of problem free driving and I am very lucky with that. Either way the glass is half full.

Even though I could have waited until I drove the truck for year, I bought mine from Granger right from the start. 10 years 100K on a 4x Lariat 502a for about $2400. A bargain to me.

Similar to you, I did the 10/125k ESP at time of purchase from Granger (with full lighting coverage) and rolled it into the 0%APR financing from Ford with zero $ down.

As far as I'm concerned, the good news continues, I've got 6 months left using Ford's free money (they're paid-off on 6/21/2025), that money will have earned me a tad over $8000 in interest at payoff :).

Will I keep this one long enough to make the ESP worthwhile? Well, I've still got the last F150 I bought new in 2005  (that's why I skipped rental options on the ESP :wink:). If I never make a claim on the ESP, I'll still be happy.

To top-off the good news relating to my 2021 F150 purchase, I sold a 3YO 2019 Ridgeline RTLE to get the F150. In the whacky covid environment at the time, a local Chevy dealer paid me enough for the Honda to cover its entire original purchase price including TT&L and the cost of 3 years of insurance. IOW, I drove that Ridgeline (which was a great little truck, just can't tow a 5th wheel RV) for three years and all it cost me was the price of gas and oil/filters!

As I said in my OP ....
Maybe a bit of lucky timing, maybe a bit of good karma, but whatever the reasons I'm thankful to take it.

I didn't buy an ESP on this truck or any other vehicle and never had anything but very few minor, low cost problems. And I always keep 'em for 10-19 years. I figure I've saved enough money over four and a half decades to pay for a repair or two if something happens... Then again, vehicles are much more complex today and maybe I just jinxed myself! :p

I have to say, I'm super happy with my 2021 302A Job 1 XLT. It runs great, drives great, rides great and is really quiet inside. I had a few warranty visits including several to get it started receiving OTA updates. They replaced the APIM and I have received a few since then. I had a couple recalls done and still have a couple to go. My concern going forward is the DRLs going out and the cost of replacements. I believe Ford should have a replacement campaign or at least extend the warranty to 6 years/100,000 miles on them.

I have looked at other vehicles and can't find anything I would rather have (within reason) than my current truck. Probably the only thing I would change about it is to have a heated steering wheel like the Platinum I traded in.

I do have the Micheline Defender LTX M or something like that. I have had them on it for over 50K miles and they are wearing and handling great. Now it's not an off roader by any means.
I have about 30k on mine…..and I just started looking on sites for next fall….just checking …And they (Michelin) doesn’t seem to offer the 275-60/20 in the Defender LTX M/S anymore……..
I hope I’m wrong but…….can’t seem to find them??

2023 XLT 3.5. Just rolled over 14,000 miles and no issues. Minor annoyance with the wind noise near my ear on the drivers door (fluttering), but that is it. Love this truck!
Too funny with the wind noise: we've got the same issue with our '24 Platty. It comes and goes.

2021 3.5EB with 65K kilometers.
It had clunky transmission after 20K, and then I rebuilt its valve body and it was and is still smooth now.
There are many cases with these 2021 10R80 transmission with failure CDF drum.
I wonder how many 2020-2022 F150s with 10R80 out there will never have CDF drum issues, hope mine will be one of them

Just passed its 3rd birthday in Oct . 32K worry free miles, two wheels combos, 3 sets of headlights, two sets of exhaust until I find the right combo LOL
Bought a 7 year 100k extended ESP from Granger, so plan on keeping this, and staying off the lot looking at new ones...that would change everything LOL

Just passed 30k at 30 months of ownership.

Gentlemen, I don’t know if I’ll be buried in this truck, but the memories made hauling around my whole world have been amazing.

Better half and I kicking around the idea of a road-trip with an Airstream across Canada in summer of 2025.

Has the truck been problem free? I’d be lying if I said yes, but the memories made make the problems moot and I feel bad for the people with issues that come here and vent them, I do, but like most things in life, things are only as bad as you make them.

If you get the opportunity, take the trip and take lots of pictures. If your kids remember anything they will always look back at vacations with the fondest of memories. It goes by in the blink of an eye but memories stay forever. Good luck.
