$8000 in damage so far - estimate still not ready

Guy t-boned us after running a stop sign. He gave the me and the cops false insurance information. Estimate currently at $8000. They're still going through it to see what else got damaged.

First, I’m glad you’re all ok. Second, dude, that really sucks. My wife was rear-ended at a stop light by an out-of-country (international-from Italy) driver. Over 4k in damages. We ended up going through our insurance and in tandem sought out their coverage. We were successful, but man was that a pain.

we had a "person" try to remove the front of our 2013 f150 in Harlingen a while back
farm bureau(my carrier) arranged to have it brought back up here to our paint body licensed place,
paid it have to fixed and all the rentals stuff. we paid our deductible and they sued state farm and the lady for all repairs. we got our deduct back and all was good

i know it sux having the truck hit. get on phone and make your carrier take care of it and take stress off you

Last week I was witness to an accident right in front of me. Everyone was alright but 2 of the 3 cars were pretty wrecked. I remember telling my wife it could not happen a worse time. Getting parts or another car might be a crap shoot.

Is that the coolant from the offending vehicle on the pavement?

It looks like the running boards took the brunt of the impact. How much damage did they do to the rocker panel folding under like that?

Thats one of the first things I am doing. I am looking at a Wolfbox G840H. There are better dash cams but this also has a rear camera that will let me have the digital rearview mirror that any new truck SHOULD already have. Or Ford should just let us use the built in rearview camera on the full display at speed.

I know I can use the bed cam at speed so I wanted to see what this looks like live before I buy anything. I may be able to use that in a pinch.

Thank god you had yours as lying has become much more popular lately.

what model do you have? I’ve had several blackvue but they seem to die every 2 years. Very annoying.

In an accident situation the bed cam does not help. Since the truck does not have a digital rearview mirror the bed cam, or any digital type rearview mirror, only helps you see out the back when you have your bed loaded and blocking your view out the back (maybe trifold). Crazy idea to load up stuff in your truck bed.

I brought that up because we were speaking about dash cams. There are ones out there that kill 2 birds with one stone if a digital rearview mirror is something you would like too.

Hopefully Forscan will be able to add a command to let you use your trucks tailgate camera on the main screen at speed.

I understand but how will using your tailgate camera at speed help you in case of an accident if it's not captured and stored on a drive?

I installed a 2-channel dash cam in my truck, I did not want the rear view mirror one. There is one camera capturing the front, another on the rear window capturing the back. I run a USB cable between the two through the roof.
