8 in to 12 in APIM Settings

Anyone that has upgraded from the 8 to 12 have the required APIM settings? My 22 Xl RCSB came with the 8in and I have acquired all of the components such as APIM, ACM, display, all wire harness, trim panels, etc. All of these parts and I'm still under $1k vs nearly 3k that others want for the full kit.

If not I'll just use my wife's 22 F150 that has the display and copy her as built files in Forscan. Just wanted to be be sure which settings that I don't need. Not much info out there. Perhaps I'll have to do a full write up when I'm done so Yall won't have to be gouged the 3k for the upgrade.

Why did you have to replace the ACM? Also, what wire harness did you need and where did you get it from? Thanks in advance.

Had to replace the ACM (radio module) as my single cab didn't come with HD Radio or Sirius Sat. The power cable for the display and the ACM module harness, OEM SAT Antenna I sourced from ebay, Amazon, scrap yard, and the dealership. It's all completed now and probably one of the best upgrades I've done. I even added a B&O center speaker with no issues. However, I warn you now.... If your not tech savy with Forscan you're better off buying the kit from boosted or infotainment as theirs are plug and play to a point. However, there is a good YouTube video that can get you started.

Thank you for that info. I have a 21’ STX sync 4 with the built in navigation and xm radio. I wasn’t sure if I needed to switch out the apim. I’ll have to check if there are any extra plugs to power a 12” screen. Can you actually hear the difference with the center channel speaker? I was also thinking of adding that.

Yes for sure you should get the full blown APIM with all the plugs. Yes the center channel cleaned up the bass from my sub I put behind the seat. I'm installing a set of APILLARS with the B&O tweeters next week and just the different angles of the tweeters are better than the stock XL. I cheated and took the ones from my Wife's 22 B&O and did a temp install and It was a night/day difference in the sound quality to me.

How can I find out which sync 4 apim to get? I’ve checked a few online but seems like there are many different model numbers.

Can you show how you connected the power wire to the apim harness.

Hey man question for you.. So the video I followed on Youtube said to use micro2 fuse adapters and I can't get my screen to stay powered on. Could I use bigger fuses or do I buy micro3 as you stated?
