It's the factory hard tri-fold. I think it's really a Bakflip MX4 rebranded for Ford, from what I understand.

In case anyone is thinking about ordering wheels/tires. Here is the stock 18" 275/65/18 setup so you can see the poke. I did some spirited gravel road driving and 99% of the dirt/gravel was kept inside the wheel well. I feel like any wheel/tire setup that pokes more this stock setup and I would have had gravel flinging up on the side of the truck. These tires are fine for me right now but when they wear out I'll upsize to 275/70/18 and consider aftermarket wheels but I'd have to find some with close to +44 offset because I don't want spray on the sides of the truck all the time.

Just a couple of changes, as we clean up the list...

Littlefield82 took delivery of his truck, making quite the journey to do so. He also gave a very detailed report on his truck's virtues (and a few foibles) that he discovered after a long drive. Looks like we all have a lot to look forward to and a couple of things to look out for. On a side note, Littlefield82 is the thread founder, so with him taking delivery, things feel 'rounded out'.

SpikerS also decided to take their minorly-damaged bright red truck home, to fix when convenient. That's one more person off the list! SpikerS also gave a report of the truck's ups and downs. Sounds like the low-speed pedestrian noisemaker is near the top of the list of 'most annoying features'. I should make my fortune selling a custom-built muffler for the speaker.

So now we have, by my count, three folks still waiting on delivery and two in Super-Limbo from 8/2, as well as a couple of non-8/2s I'll continue watching here to keep myself occupied over the many weeks to my own (hopeful!) delivery...

I was considering a levelling kit, but if it hits things that hard, maybe not :/

Just wanted to update on a few issues that I have seen people have with theirs that I don't. My center console stays up perfectly fine. I have the work surface and there is no issues there. I have a Powerboost and the shifting is no where near as bad as some have said. You can tell when you are stopped, going from electric to gas, but when you are actually moving and are going from electric to gas, you can hardly tell. There have been times where I looked down and saw I was in gas mode when I though I was still driving electric.

The weather stripping between the Driver side and rear driver side is loose, but can't really tell if it is doing anything yet. It's missing a couple clips to keep it in place, so it is fixable. I really think so far that is my only issue.

On MPG. I'm averaging like 24.6MPG in mine. Its a mix of city driving and highway driving. The electric motor driving during city definitely helps out at a lot. I've actually seen my estimated miles to empty increase on numerous occasions!!! So far still extremely happy with my purchase!!

Time for some initial impressions. This is the first truck I've had since 2011, when I traded in my 2001 Ram 1500 for a Subaru Outback. I had a 2019 Forester that I traded for the F-150. So those are my points of reference. And I'll say after 4 days, I totally love this truck. These are my random thoughts after 300 miles of driving.

Trucks have come a looooong way since 2001. I still can't get over how quiet this truck is on the highway, even with the engine running. And the technology. When I realized that the 2021 F-150 matched or exceeded the tech in the Subaru (Subaru Eyesight and adaptive cruise control are really good), I knew it was time.

I drove to southern Maine today, about 150 miles round trip. Lots of time using adaptive cruise control and lane centering, and it worked great on the way up. On the way home we were in heavy holiday traffic on 95 though, and it wigged out a little and shut itself off. I couldn't reenable it again for the rest of the trip home. Not sure what happened there. I'd get an "Adaptive cruise control is unavailable" type message every time I tried. Hoping it was something transient, but I haven't had a chance to drive again since I got home. I also haven't looked at the sensors to see if they are clean. On the Subaru it would do the same if snow, ice or condensation blocked the cameras, but once that cleared, it would start working again.

Round trip mileage was > 24 even with the traffic, so I'm pretty happy. That was also the range I was in running errands Saturday and Sunday. Sure beats the 12 mpg from the Dodge.

Another quirk I discovered last night was how the automatic high beams work. Again, point of reference is the Subaru. If you have the F-150 auto high beams on, they come on by themselves. That was a bit of a surprise to me. The Subaru high beams were auto dimming, but you had to turn the high beams on yourself, then they'd dim if someone was oncoming or you were behind someone.

I got the Michelin Primacy XCs with my FX4 package. Sorry Ford, they are NOT A/T tires. I also made the mistake of looking at reviews and ratings for them on Tire Rack, and lets just say they're going to go soon. They are rated pretty poorly in winter conditions, which isn't going to fly in New England. Still up in the air as to what I'll put on, but leaning towards Discoverer AT3 4S or Revo 3s. I had the first gen Revos and the Revo 2s on my last truck, so I know what to expect there.

I love that the directions from the nav app on my phone (Apple Maps today, don't judge me) show on the screen in the cluster. Previous car only showed that info in the cluster if you were using the build in nav system. Not sure if it works that way with other nav apps or it's an Apple thing?

Did I mention I love this truck?

I'm taking this as an update , but I've never seen anyone else post with palsapp saying this.

Dispatched on Oct 11 2021

If that means shipped/in transit, may get to see it tomorrow as I'm only about 6 hrs from Dearborn.

Glad to see so many of you all have your long awaited trucks at home now. Best of luck to those still waiting in limbo!

Fingers crossed for you. My palsapp showed "dispatched" on a Friday evening. It remained in "dispatched" until it arrived at the dealer the next morning. I am 230mi from Dearborn so, it was the only convoy leg required. It was my understanding "dispatched" means it's imminently loaded, is loaded, or in-transit on a truck.

You like it? It’s the same one I ordered… if mine ever arrives… haha
Functionally, it's pretty solid. My first tonneau so, not much to compare to. It's beefy and sturdy. Kids have stood on it several times already. Could probably hold my weight (~200lbs) if needed. Release latches are quality built. Whole tonneau may require 2 ppl to remove it optimally. When folding it, by the 3rd fold, it is surprisingly heavier than it looks but totally manageable - someone with light strength may be challenged to fold it all the way up. Bed has remained mostly dry with some drips after a couple rains and one wash.

Aesthetically, I'd prefer a less-shiny, more-resilient paint on top but it is fine - minor nit. The paint is thin - already have a minor scuff/scratch revealing metallic coloring under the paint (probably from the kids crawling all over it). I'm more concerned about the longevity of the rubber seals over the years in the sun - will probably look into some kind of rubber revitalizer/protectant to be sure it lasts.

Thanks for the info. 340 miles away from me. May drive by the dealership when I get off work in the morning and see if its there ?

FWIW I have used this on my convertible seals for years and seams to work well.

Only two updates today... Catfishkid1986 goes from 'Built' to 'Dispatched', let's hope that means shipping has happened and arrival is imminent!

Also, my ETA has gone from '12/31/21' to 'TBD'. I'm not really sure that's better, as 'TBD' is pretty much the abbreviation for 'Limbo'. The behind-the-scenes data still says 12/31, so it may just be Ford updating their tracking page to avoid showing depressing-looking ETAs.

Appreciate the honorary mention @johnbisme . I was updated yesterday to Built, then soon after to shipped and in-transit. My ETA was updated to 10/23-10/29. Hopefully the train is on it's way to KC!
