6.5 Update Issue - downloaded - won't begin update overnight or manual.

Edit - update succeeded when I attemped it while my battery tender(4A $70 version) was connected. (SOC was 63% otherwise and would fail)

Overnight update always fail.

21 Ford Hybrid SYNC 4

Manual update process gets this screen for half a second then I'm back at the update menu.

BMS has been reset with a topped off battery from battery tender.

Thougths on what to try next? Sync reset with power button/right arrow button don't help. Factory SYNC reset doesn't help.

could still be the battery. Is it the OEM battery from Ford? What's the SOC reading? Might ask @rugedraw to lookup your VIN and see if he has any insight into your update process

Damn... roughly 4 years out of this battery. Time to get a new one. This is after being topped up earlier today. What does that mean about the battery if my AGM battery tender tops it off and SOC says 63%?

I guess my truck likes being connected to the battery tender. Thanks @Borchelt for the SOC check suggestion!

Hood was up.
Driver's door opened.

Update started and finished successfully.

My previous use, I had my battery tender connected to my battery and it said fully charged. So at that point I disconnected the tender and tried the update and it failed.

With the tender connected, hood open, drivers door open, it's actually working while my truck is connected to the tender. (and the update was completed)

Probably time to invest in a new battery. Mine was less than 1 yr old and I replaced it with a Platinum AutoZone H7. Updates started to complete then. The 2021 PB that I have is known to have battery issues tied to FORD OEM batteries.

Since doing the last update my 2021 F150 2.7 liter only gets 18 to 19 mpg. Used to get 20.8 to 21.6. Changed air cleaner and not much change. It has 25,625 miles.
