Ordered the maganflow catback, with dual tips out passenger side. Had the tips powder coated gloss black...installed, for about 1.5 weeks. In CD sounded like a Honda with a fartpipe...took off and went back to OEM

Sounds like Borla Touring or similar is what you are looking for if changing from stock. I have the factory dual outlet on mine. I'd prefer a bit more growl, but not enough to justify a $1500 upgrade to a Corsa Sport or Borla S-Type.
What about just swapping to a borla muffler, did that on my old GMC and it was great, awesome when giving the heat, but quiet when it needed to be, no drone. You've already got the dual exhaust!

Definitely an option, but you will either need to weld it on or take it somewhere to have it welded on due to how the tail pipes exit the factory muffler.

The Corsa side exit is loud but only when your foot is down, idle is pretty quiet except for cold-starts. I would imagine the single rear exit would be even less noisy.

Yeah and some folks believe switching out just your muffler will give you same benefits but it won’t, cats back is much more beneficial due to larger pipes as well as flow increase. I once switched out just my muffler on a 2008 F150 king ranch and later regretted it as it was louder but noticeable more back-flow creating less power. Plus, after having a huge number of trucks throughout my life I’d recommend tune first then S&B CAI and then exhaust as it’s a process or imo just crank up some loud hard rock music which should give you same amount of noise but you’ll at least be able to turn down the volume lol. Good luck and God Bless
Cat backs dont do squat for performance. Nothing that you can actually notice anyway.

The y pipe is the bottleneck. You will not get a noticable increase unless you go true dual.

And CAI is also a huge waste of money. All they do is let more dirt in.

After a tune, its takes a lot of $$$ to increase power.

Have your factory muffler removed and weld a corsa muffle in its place. Keep the factory resonator and you’ll have a straight through exhaust that is just slight louder that stock, no drone and only a few hundred bucks.

Well, sorry you feel this way but I’ve noticed a difference just by adding the S&B CAI on my 2023 5.0. Waiting for a tune and will NEVER run a loud exhaust. My last GMC 1500 SC 6.2 had a CST 4.5” lift with 34’s, tuned with just SuperChips and huge difference in power and mpg’s. Was noticeably much faster. But hey, different strokes for different folks. If I was in my 20’s I’d be running headers, real duels etc but I’m just looking for reliability so I’m running Amsoil Signature Series every 4-5 k miles as it’s 100% Synthetic and all I’ve ever run with zero motor related issues ever.

Yes, tune adds noticeble power. Thats stated. Your experience is most likey placebo effect. No CAI adds noticeble power. Show an unbiased, non-advertisment, un-sponsered, dyno that proves this is not fact. Only mod can be CAI.

Have you tried E85?

I've ran two tanks and it DOES make a difference. Feels alot happier !

Absolutely! I used to use about 7 gallons per every other tank in my GMC 6.2 and definitely noticed a difference. I haven’t tried it in my 2023 5.0 yet but will definitely as I use E85 for its cleaning properties, keeping injectors clean. Only drawback is noticeable lower mileage but definitely noticed a power increase with just those 7 gallons.
