These are trucks and I bought mine to do truck stuff. Seems fitting to race them doing truck things….so how about pulling a 9000lb trailer? Which one reigns supreme in that scenario? I think we all know the answer there….

I do love the coyote though. The one in my mustang just gobbles up the boost like a juicy steak. Stage 2 Gen5 Whipple on 14psi running e85. Fast as hell and just all sorts of fun! Oh, and my 3.5 tows my 24’ enclosed car trailer like a champ!!!
+1 on the application. The max I would be using it for is trailering a flat tilt bed steel trailer with my track car on it for a total of 7,000 lbs 6-12 times a year.

I prefer the 5.0 but only from the perspective of owning my vehicles for 8+ years and easier access to everything in the engine bay.

For 8,000+ lbs trailers, HD is the preferred tow vehicle due to the suspension and brakes.

Well no sh** diesel’s obviously tow more. Lol and half tons are hardly “toy” trucks. I’d say I see more “toy” 3/4 ton trucks in my area that are pavement princesses and driveway queens than 1/2 ton trucks. Guys just put lifts on them and bigger tires because…. you know…. “mINes bIGgeR tHaN yOuRS.” I’ve never towed with a diesel but they do put up some good numbers. But modern day diesels are all garbage and require a lot more maintenance unless you delete it. I’d rather have the 7.3 Godzilla anyways!

Ford under rated the 3.5 Eco for insurance purposes.

Mine dynoed at 1,589 HP. Max torque measured at 1,957 lbs at 1 RPM. Great low end for towing.

It also did the 1/4 in 2.589 and gets 49 MPG... City...on regular pump gas.

My dog ate all the paperwork proving this though.

Can't meet up for a race as I'm currently working on an offshore oil rig for the prince of Nigeria.

He emailed me personally and asked for my help.

Which ones, the older ones that make the same/less power or the new ones full of emissions crap that creates less reliability than their gas counterparts?

So it’s safe to say 5.0 > 3.5/2.7
