Bro! You just saved me A LOT of money! Thanks!

Ever hear the phrase....I would rather be lucky than good? I just lived it.

Here's my long story leading up to today....

I'm a "Tundra" guy. I have a Gen1 (2006) with 214k miles on it. So, when the Gen3 comes out, I'm ready to buy. Wasn't wild about the no V8 option, but maybe I could roll the dice and take the plunge with Toyota again. Smash cut to me trying in vain to find a truck. I look high and low, and I can't find anything around me. Unlike Ford, Toyota doesn't have an ordering system for their customers. The best that you can do is go to a dealer and then they (if they are inclined to do so) can look in the system and try and find you a truck. I did this...went to the dealer where I bought my 2006, and he looked in the system. Three things....1) he only finds a few, and ALL come with added stuff that I don't want, with no option to "delete them", 2) he's going to be charging me OVER MSRP, and 3) after saying to give him a few days to see what he can do....meaning get his hands on a truck and working up a final price......I hear nothing. It's been almost two weeks. I've never had to try so hard to spend so much money. So I move on.

I've always liked the Tremor from a far. I have a friend that has a F250 version. So, I'm watching YouTube the other day and trip into "Pickup Truck Plus SUV Talk", and Tim is giving updates on the 2023 F150 and the bottom line is that the F150 Tremor can now be had with the V8! Awesome news (not trying to throw any shade at the 3.5V6, I just have a preference). Tim also gives credit to this Forum (nice job Tim). So I sort of put that in the back of my mind.

Well, earlier this week, I closed the door on Toyota, reach out to another friend who puts me in touch with his Ford Fleet person. I've spent the last 3 days going back and forth with them, and pretty much finalize my build this morning. Then for some reason, I decided to register for this Forum and just sort of snoop around and find this thread. And like I said with my first ever post here...I was sort of made to believe that paying "just" MSRP...with no markup in this current market was like some great deal. Then @hotrodmex shoots me a reply for the WIN!

I've already been in touch with Granger, sent them my options, they have shot me the build sheet and I should be pulling the trigger tonight.

Told you this was going to be long.

Man I love being lucky!!!

Thanks again!!!

Glad you will be able to save some money and have a super smooth transaction, backed by now years of positive reviews.

They don't say it much anymore (likely because they know no dealer will bother), but they used to say give you local dealer a chance to match, or come close. Personally I would have gone more local if someone met me at invoice, but no dealer wanted to go lower than MSRP, and they said I was being scammed.

Now, I'd even be wary of just a price match because there's so many other things that other people have had go wrong: ignorant sales people, orders put in wrong, orders canceled by the dealer with BS excuses, low allocations leading to no scheduling, lack of price protection, lack of incentive protection, last minute ADMs, heavy selling on overpriced ESP (Granger is $50 over cost!), etc...

There are a handful of other Ford dealerships within 30 miles of Granger, all still at or above MSRP. Not sure why anybody in the Des Moines area would even bother going anywhere other than Granger to purchase a new Ford.

Yeah....at this point, I'm sort of over going back and seeing if folks will match. I mean...they were perfectly willing to charge me a lot more....why should I give them another chance....give the biz to the fist place that reached for it. And I mean this universally, not just this one transaction. I've been that way for awhile....not wiling to go back and see if someone will match.

On another note, is it safe to assume that Granger has competitive financing? I would think they do, but haven't covered that with them yet.

Oh...and lastly....to get back on topic....I am going with 402A
