Yours kids a very lucky.
Well, they both paid for most of their current vehicles (I put 10k in and they paid off the rest in HS and College). I am going to sell them, and pay the remainder for the two trucks. Their vehicles are about half the value of the two trucks so I am only paying for one (half of each). With xplan and the 3700 rebate from truck month when I ordered it isn't a bad deal. They both have worked their way through college and have paid expenses that I would have been willing to pay for if they had not gotten scholarships, been team managers, etc. so I am using the money I would have paid on tuition, room and board, etc. to get them this. I am actually coming out on the cheap end and I am the lucky one b/c they are great kids.

First off not trying to get anyone excited. Strictly my own opinion....

Wouldn't argue with anything you said... however, I could be wrong but the people making the decisions are worried about their bonus... not taking a hit to make it right. There may be a few who jump ship and go to a different brand.. but the majority won't.
It's win win as if everyone re orders they Also look good high sales etc..

Side note my dealer is confident stuff is and will speed up movement... not being told to re order
Do you have your head in the sand? NO dealer has more than a few F150 trucks on their lot. They are selling for 5K to 10K over MSRP. EVERY ONE. Ford is likely going to lose the 44 year record of #1 selling vehicle. Their plants are closing weekly or are down to one shift because they are out of parts. ALL the chips are going to the factory until further notice. They have no additional capacity to have high sales. They are OFF 30%. It will take months to replenish dealer inventory levels if NO ONE buys another truck for the next 2 months. Mark my work very few if any boneyard trucks will be delivered in June, July and August.

Sure they have the chips to get a few lines running, but Ford and many other manufacturers have lines down. If ford was back up running all lines, they may still have inventory issues to finish our trucks, they need more chips each week than what is required to keep all their lines running and finish the back log. The semi conductor shortage is real and the industry was a high risk with high capacity before the fire at Renesas. The number of wafer manufacturers is a very small number and thus we all feel the impact when one company goes offline.
The ONLY auto manufacture whos sales are going to be down over 2019 levels is FORD. Probably 30%. Piss poor management top down. Every other manufacture has been picking up the slack and will have their inventories replenished months before Ford.

Listed by estimated "volume impact" by AutoForecast Solutions, the 10 most affected were all Ford, GM, or Stellantis products:
  • Ford F-series: 109,710.
  • Jeep Cherokee: 98,584.
  • Chevrolet Equinox: 81,833.
  • Chevrolet Malibu: 56,929.
  • Ford Explorer: 46,766.
  • Jeep Compass: 42,195.
  • Ford Edge: 37,521.
  • Ford Escape: 36,463.
Notice any trucks here but Ford?

Agreed. I do think they are SLOWLY getting to some of the boneyard trucks b/c one of mine is on the way (4/30 build in transit now) the other stuck (4/28 build still on chip hold) they are so desperate for something to sell they just paid me $24.5k for a 2017 Colorado with 60k miles that my daughter paid $28k for new and they have advertised for $28.5k. The dealers are hurting and have nothing on the lots around here anyway.

As I posted before, after I saw my delivery date go from 5/22 to 6/1, (gave me hope) to 10/31 I pulled the plug and canceled my order. 3/12 order date, 4/29 blend date.
I found a similar build at a dealer about 5 hours from home. King Ranch Powerboost with all the options except the complete fold down seats.
I have been following my original order for kicks and it went from 10/31 to 7/2 a couple of days ago and is still holding that date.
In the meantime I am looking forward to picking up my new truck on Tuesday! It has been in for about two weeks but waiting on the one piece tonneau cover. It has a 5/3 blend date.

In addition, the reports of dealers now asking for drivers license verification on retail orders makes me think they are going to sniff out those people that ordered multiple trucks.
The Ford rep who asked me to place the replacement order directed the dealer to :

"May you please submit the COVP for Michael’s new order (A024)? You’ll need signed BO and Driver’s License"
That is not to "sniff them out" but instead to allow Ford to Prioritize these replacement orders ahead of current orders in house.

They are doing a few a week and I confirmed today there is absolutely no system. No one is getting priority by order age. It is completely random. I have seen a couple instances where "someone" with authority gets one dug out, tested and shipped. No one is willing to say who has the authority to get this done.

It was standard for my order also, but not all dealers do it. This week, it was reported corporate was making the dealers verify custom orders by providing a drivers license. That tells me they are going to audit the parking lot trucks. One, to verify dealers are not placing fake custom orders to get more stock...two, to weed out people re-ordering multiple trucks in hopes to get one.
Nope,
Just the oposite.
Ford zone Rep can Prioritize to level 2 any reorder for a delayed truck.,
He told my dealer last week after he handled my reorder to:

May you please submit the COVP for Michael’s new order (A024)? You’ll need signed BO and Driver’s License
This is so he can jump the reorder in front of current orders. Still going to be weeks.

What pisses me off is a truck that my dealer ordered the day AFTER ordering my truck is now sitting on the dealer lot.

A fully loaded limited. I’m not surprised at all….
I saw a Powerboost Xlt 302a at a dealership that was built 5/5. Dealer stock.

Yes stock is low agree there.
But the dealership I bought from is still selling under MSRP.
Calm down and get some fresh air while waiting for your truck.

I am quite sure all of us paid well below MSRP for our "custom ordered" trucks we are waiting for. I am also very sure there is not a single truck sold and delivered from stock off a dealers lot in the last month that was at or below MSRP. Show me one.

"In front of current orders"?

Have you read these forums?

There are people who ordered trucks in January and November who still have no ship date let alone a truck.
While people who ordered their trucks as late as March are driving them now.

There is no "line".

There is no "priority".

It's chaos at Ford right now and the two identical trucks I ordered last week from two different dealers have just as much chance of being built and delivered as the one I ordered in March.

I just hope they actually got the orders in before Ford pulled the plug on new 2021 orders.
LOOK, I am not saying any of this is right. I an MAD AS HELL. I ordered my truck 1/15. Lariat PB Supercrew. I was called by the dealer on 4/1 and told the truck was in transit and was arriving 4/5. That's when the BS started. Turned out it was in transit to the boneyard. That day my truck was 1 of 2 in the eastern region parked, Chip was 2 weeks away and mine was the first to get the chip.

Again BS. I can tell you I have been relentless. Had people at various levels from Ford on the phone that had no idea how I got ahold of them.
Ford has not pulled the plug on 2021 orders. That was fleet orders. Bad information.

I can tell you with confidence most all of the chips and manpower in the next month or two are going to new builds, NOT the boneyard. If you have an unshipped order from march or older there is a 90% chance you will wait until September or October for that order. It is random luck of the draw. No priority to oldest order. A new order will likely arrive much sooner. Ford has no intention of revisiting those orders unless you take action. They are NOT going to proactively seek them out,.

There is a priority but anything below level 10 has to be done by a Ford rep or manager. They have to apply the priority during the ordering and scheduling process. They can not apply it to boneyard orders. If someone tells you that they are lying.

This all sucks. I have exclusively driven Fords for 45 years. That is about to end. I can say when this ends I will NEVER order another one. Those who were proactive when this thin went sideways reordered and are now driving their second order while we sit back and complain about it.

The bottom line is FORD royally screwed up. A 44 year running record is going to fall. Thousands of customers are pissed and FORD really doesn't care. Jim Farley is completely in over his head with clearly poor advisors.

SUCKS TO BE US.

Most small town dealerships in Ontario still list them below MSRP.. not by much.. but below.
Maybe when they sell its over MSRP..
Not sure
I do see in the big city Toronto they are over MSRP by 2k you are right!

Regardless we all want our trucks
We all want ford to stay #1
The people making the decisions want their big bonus and whatever it takes to get it is what their going to do
