I put this under Frame and Chassis, well, because. The oil filter drain tray seems to be universal for the V6 and V8. Here's a picture of the rearward drain port. (I have a Powerboost) It's rectangular. Wouldn't it have been great if @Ford had made this round so that a tube could be fitted? They didn't so this would be a great opportunity for you printer people to design an adaptor to fit a drain hose. I'd love to be your first sale.

I'm installing a Talons skid plate. I would love to permanently extend this drain hole.

I wait impatiently on your work @Ajzride . In the meantime I did what I could do. With 1" PVC and fire I made this. I think one screw, maybe two, will secure it sufficiently. I may neck the the PVC down to a smaller diameter. An adaptor to do the same up front would be nice also.

Why you may ask? For me, installing a Talons skid plate restricts easy access to these spillways. I want to make sure oil doesn't spill on the top side of the skid plates. I want to be able to direct the waste oil directly into a container. I bet even for guys without skid plates they'd like to tidy up their oil changes too.

Just curious as to why it's needed? I've changed my oil & filter 3-4 times now and never had the oil from the filter go anywhere I didn't want it to coming out of the filter drain.

If you wanted to use that, looks like a glove could slip over it. Still need to clean that when you do get oil on it else it'll randomly drip here and there.

Explanation is in a previous post.

Not if you cap it.

See that little 2" square hole? I want to extend that rear spout down to that hole. Those that don't want a full coverage skid plate need not apply.

Even if you have an OEM truck, maybe you want the waste oil to go where you want it to go vs dripping straight down? I won't question your reasons.

I have the full set of Talon skids and I would be interested in this as well.

I've securely fastened my PVC extender to the oil drain tray. I rummaged thru my old plumbing pieces and was able to neck down the 1" PVC to 1/2". I only need a short length of tube and a plug and this project will be ready to test.

Oh, and another thing I did was dam up the front spill away of the oil tray. I want all oil draining out the back. Doubtful it would with the truck on ramps.

Here's my final version of my oil filter drain tube. I painted it black to simulate phactory appearance. The outlet is darn close to being centered in the skid plate's opening. I hadn't planned exactly what I finished up with so I don't have a cap for the tube. I'll get one though and this will be job done. Remove the cap, install the flexible drain tube, insert tube into a container, allow to drain, no mess no fuss. I'll need to trim the flexible tube to length at my next oil change. This was easy to do. If you have the Talons skid plates I recommend doing this project.
