2024 XLT 3.5 EcoBoost
My 2024 XLT with the 3.5 non-hybrid EcoBoost seems to have some hesitation. It happens when the truck is cold and it clears up within the first mile or two. The hesitation is at low RPM, between 1000 and 1500 when I turn out of my street on to the main road and accelerate, the tach jumps when it's happening. I don't have a heavy foot so that's why the RPM's is lower, if I step on it, it seems to clear up. I've never owned a Ford, or a truck with a V-6 before this one, so I'm just wondering if this is an issue or just a Ford or EcoBoost quirk.

I also have a 2024 XLT with 3.5 EcoBoost. I have the same issue you described. I've only owned it a couple months. The dealer had filled it up with 87 octane and since then I've ran a couple tanks of 93 octane through it and continue using 93. It does seem to help somewhat. It's not as noticeable as it was, but I do still feel it now and then. I'm wondering if it's just normal for an EcoBoost. I've never owned one before.

My previous 3.5 EB and my current one both had this issue. I started using 93 octane and the problem went away. Now, that's all I run and to me, it's worth the extra fuel cost.

Check tranny fluid
I tried checking the tranny fluid last night, but couldn't find the dipstick under the hood. According to YouTube, you have to have it on the lift running (or maybe crawl under) to check it underneath. There's a Ford engineer that's now on my s**t list...

Does it do this in Sport Mode? If not it could be the truck has learned your particular driving style and has adjusted for it. Sometimes my truck acts like this and a few romps on it and it clears up and runs as it should. I still believe, in spite of all of the chips and processors and the learning they do a good stomp once in a while wakes them up. Just my .02

Maybe it’s the fuel pump recall.
