24N04 recall notice

So I just called in to book for the 24E04 and this recent 24N04 notices and I was told the 24N04 is just a notice and I don't have to do anything if I don't see any issues with the truck! According to this notice, EGHR may develop a leak at the coolant inlet port, or the EGHR actuator's printed circuit board may fail later in life. it goes on to say that an EGHR system replacement, if required, and if vehicle is within certain time and km will be free(parts and labour). This time and kilometers is 15 years and 240,000km to be exact. That is a long time and distance travelled which I am nowhere close to them but what happens if this system decides to fail when I am in a middle of a summer trip with the family? Why can't they just replace it if they have established that there is or could be an issue with this system?

Are we even sure that the replacement parts are different/upgraded?, or are they just throwing the same junk at the problem, and hope that the majority of users won't have a problem.

I received one of the notices the other day, stopped by my Ford dealership and was told, so far really has not been an issue but if it were to fail, it'll be fixed. Besides, if its up to 150K Miles and/or 15 years, I'm thinking its probably not a real big issue I need to worry about now....Cheers!

I have an appointment with them tomorrow for the 24E04 and I will pick their brain a bit with the 24N04. Want to also try my luck with having them to change both 12V batteries. Will see how that goes!

Good luck with those batteries ? I have 32K on my '23 PB and with the exception of two battery issues in the first 5K, I've been quite happy for the time being, NO ISSUES. Since I haven't been plagued with issues so far, I plan to put two new ones in probably within the year, my expense.....a long trip coming this summer, maybe even into Canada, if they'll let me in?....Cheers and again, good luck.

I don't think they will replace the batteries but will give it a try. If not, I will replace both before heading to Massachusetts this August! That is if they don't turn my ass around and ship me back! You are always welcome here! Siblings fight every now and then but soon after, they almost always kiss and make up! ? Crossing my fingers!

Last couple days ford started sending me text to my mobile phone trying to get me to make an appt. Since I have this extended warrant for dealer demos that gives me a free rental I made an appt.
