Okay so as I posted before I installed tow mirrors on my 24' XLT. When I purchased my truck the dealership ordered the tow mirrors for a 21' to 23' and said you're going to need to swap out the cameras. I did and everything works perfectly other than 360 bird view. I have blurry lines and they're obviously not calibrated.
I called around and found a dealership that said they could calibrate the cameras. After their first attempt the picture got worse. I went over spoke with the service manager and he wanted me just to confirm that I took the cameras out of the standard mirrors that came with the truck. He agreed to attempt it again. This time they called me up and said there are two different cameras. One For the standard mirror and another for the tow mirrors.
I called around and some dealerships agreed and others disagree. I found a guy selling Tow Mirrors off his 24 XLT. He wanted my standard mirrors. He offered to take the camera out and send me a picture. Spoiler alert it's the exact same part number.
This is what the dealership is telling me:
For tow mirrors: pc3z.19g490.m
For standard mirrors pc3z.19g490.B
The number that is on the actual camera in both the standard mirror and the tow mirror : PC3T-19J220-BB
The number for both tow and standard mirror on Ford's parts diagram using 2 different VIN numbers: 19G490
Now you probably guessed the camera that the dealership says I need is on back order. When the gentleman sent me a picture of the camera from his tow mirror I expected to see a different number. This now has me questioning the dealership. I attached the cameras in question.
Any information at all would be helpful.
