Okay so as I posted before I installed tow mirrors on my 24' XLT. When I purchased my truck the dealership ordered the tow mirrors for a 21' to 23' and said you're going to need to swap out the cameras. I did and everything works perfectly other than 360 bird view. I have blurry lines and they're obviously not calibrated.

I called around and found a dealership that said they could calibrate the cameras. After their first attempt the picture got worse. I went over spoke with the service manager and he wanted me just to confirm that I took the cameras out of the standard mirrors that came with the truck. He agreed to attempt it again. This time they called me up and said there are two different cameras. One For the standard mirror and another for the tow mirrors.

I called around and some dealerships agreed and others disagree. I found a guy selling Tow Mirrors off his 24 XLT. He wanted my standard mirrors. He offered to take the camera out and send me a picture. Spoiler alert it's the exact same part number.

This is what the dealership is telling me:

For tow mirrors: pc3z.19g490.m

For standard mirrors pc3z.19g490.B

The number that is on the actual camera in both the standard mirror and the tow mirror : PC3T-19J220-BB

The number for both tow and standard mirror on Ford's parts diagram using 2 different VIN numbers: 19G490

Now you probably guessed the camera that the dealership says I need is on back order. When the gentleman sent me a picture of the camera from his tow mirror I expected to see a different number. This now has me questioning the dealership. I attached the cameras in question.

Any information at all would be helpful.

They do have different engineering codes on them, might be that changes the basic programing with respect to which camera is installed?

Ok. So technically they are different? I assume the long number is the engineering code?

Thank you!

Agreed that would be the educated guess
The last digit is the tell tale
I would imagine tow mirrors and standard the mirrors mounts are in 2 different axis in relation to the world they see.
Even though they look the same

That definitely makes sense because the technician working on my truck thinks it's an optics or an alignment issue of the actual mounting.

Now one dealership here in metro Detroit got burn't over this before they knew they changed the cameras. They are telling me that I'll need to buy a complete 24' mirror assembly to resolve the issue.

I added power fold tow mirrors to my truck today. They are off a 25' Platnium. The camera ends in BC. My original cameras end in BB (off my standard mirrors) The 360 overhead view improved greatly. My dealership wants to attempt calibration with the Ford software to see if the different camera made a difference.

So did you use the original PC3T-19J220-BB cameras or did you use the PC3T-19J220-BC that where on the 25 truck?
