It’s a 22. If that’s not what you want then call dealer
I would definitely contact them. 2022 order banks closed on May 13th and 2023 orders just opened today, and late in the day (around 4:30 EDT). Don’t feel bad, my local dealer told me that Ford isn’t opening the orders for 23 F-150s until August 8th.
Thanks for the help definitely giving them a call first thing tomorrow to clear all this up

New to the forum guys, but I put my deposit down on a MY23 f -150 platinum and was told the build that would be august 8th is that even possible considering its so close ? Also It’s from planet ford in Texas so I was told they get the trucks the quickest. And they already gave me a vin but the online ford tracker doesn’t seem to be working for me and told said it can’t process this now. Is there any truth to a august 8th build that for a 23 my

Yeah, this dealer is full of shit. I have a xlt due to be built last week of
August. That is a 2022 XLT.

I would cancel and go to an honest dealer.

Plus ordering was closed in May for 2022's.

Did you get any email from Ford? You will get a confirmation email from ford when order is confirmed.

Wouldn’t complain too much given the differences would be minimal to nothing. But definitely calling tmr
If he was expecting a 2023 (and the potential wait associated with it) then he should speak up. If the dealer is just trying to get him in a vehicle faster (not an inherently bad thing considering current manufacturing issues) then it should be on the dealer to explain the value and let the customer choose what they want.

Edit to add: It does appear that the dealer was less than forthcoming and that should 100% be taken into consideration.

No I haven’t, according to others the order date got pushed back further. I am calling tomorrow to see if it a was a mistake on their end or if they are actually trying to lead me on. I have had a co worker Order From here and told me they are great, also they are the second largest ford dealership in the nation so I believe they get more cars than anyone. So let’s see what happens in the morning

You need to look into Granger Ford if you want to save some money. Plus, very honest dealer with a lot of allocation.

2023 production starts 10/10 at DTP and 10/31 in KC, According to another forum. Your dealer sold you some BS.

I personally have not done business with Planet Ford. However, my Dad (lives in FL) ordered a KR about a year ago from a dealer close to where he lives. That truck still isn't built. He was really getting impatient and I found a KR that was extremely close to his desired build that was in transit to Planet Ford. He called them and other than not coming off of sticker price, treated him very well. He flew in to Houston, and we went and picked up his truck. They knew he was coming, had the truck prepped and ready, paperwork all ready for signature and treated hime well. Did not get any "bad vibes" from them at all. Hope you just got an inexperienced sales person and that the issue can be cleared up to your satisfaction

Definitely agree sales person has been nothing but nice and helpful and they even gave me 1000 off sticker as a rebate. I’m thinking it’s just a simple misunderstanding.

It is conceivable that the dealer ordered a '22 truck to the OP's specs but as dealer inventory...and not technically a custom customer order.

Planet Ford customer here. Nothing but good things to say about their ordering process. Watch out for some add ons, but they don’t go too crazy. Mak Haik in Houston is another good dealer to order from. Invoice pricing for orders and no add ons. Talk to Adolfo Velez or Sebastian Goncalves for great service. Good Luck!
