So had my 23 f150 in the dealer for the second time in a month for hard shifts/ missing gears. The first time they found the trans fluid low and reset the adaptive shift and told me they couldn't replicate it. This time yet again couldn't replicate it, test drove it with the service manager and no issues. He told me these transmissions will have hard shifts every once in a while. I let him k ow that twice I pulled into traffic and the trans mission would miss a gear and just rev up then slam into gear. I'm at a loss for words because they basically told me maybe ford will release an update the the adaptive shifting.

I experienced something very similar to what you are describing, but mine also had a small transmission oil leak. My issue turned out to be the transmission output shaft seal as described in my previous post. For a short period of time on a long trip, the transmission did what you describe a number of times and then is settled down. When I got home, I found the small transmission oil leak, so the odd behavior occurred before the leak. It could be that one of many issues with the transmission cause it to behave in a similar way, but it is something to keep in mind.

My 2023 f150 transmission does same. Shifts hard going up and down gears when traveling at lower speeds around 20-40 mph. Actually completely shutoff twice and acted as it was in park as I was driving about to make a turn around 10 mph one time. Had to shift truck back to park and restart. Dealer found nothing but low voltage issues so replaced battery.

Same situation here only it’s getting worst. Hard hard shifting when the vehicle was purchased new. 44,000 km and 2 reprograms and the transmission is worst. It now hard shifts in and out of 8th and 6th gears and when the temp is below 0 Celsius it will sometimes stick in 1st gear until it almost redlines and hard shift into 4th. In the shop again as we speak but no hopeful I will have any success getting it fixed.
