Hello, just wondering, has anybody else experience or know of a fix for the transmission shift problem that I’m having after driving a while at around 75 to 80 mph and doing a couple of hard accelerations my truck shifts hard from 10th gear to ninth gear and then it feels like it loses power for a second or two while shifting from 9th to 10th gear and while this is happening I do notice a whining sound but then after a while it seems to go away and the transmission is acting normal. I’ve been to two dealerships and nobody can replicate the problem that I’m having. This is very frustrating. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Tough one.
There are some TSBs out there. 24-2070 I think off the top of my head. Software updates and they can do a break in procedure.

Could also check the trans temp. Just need temp hot to measure.

Could also try a reflash of the learning.

Trans is least favorite thing on my truck. Just so often clunky.

Had the exact same thing on my PB, 21 Limited. Took it in and had it looked at. They dropped the pan, checked the valve body, yada yada yada. Didn't find anything. They reprogrammed the transmission, perhaps reset the learn function per a TSB. Have not had any issues but as well, I have not had a chance to take it on an extended run at 75 or so and temps hot like I did when I experienced that effect on a 600 mile drive before. Mine was banging hard like yours between 9th and 10th and wandering a bit between those gears under load.

I think this has appeared on other forums, but I also experienced teeth rattling, eyeball popping 'hard shifts' in gears 4-7 during moderate acceleration and deceleration. I mentioned it to my Ford Dealer during the many other recalls for my 2022 F150 3.5PB. He didn't seem surprised, and advised a software update would be done. This did appear to fix the problem. I'm not a knowledgeable gear-head like many others on this forum and can't explain what or why. But it seemed to be issue with computer that controls the engine/transmission interface. It never did it in Performance mode, only Normal and Economy. 18 months later, its been fine.

Had this same problem. Dealership replaced transmission 2 times in attempt to fix. Looks like ultimate fix was the tech did a full reset of particular modules on ECU/M.

take that back...it has come back after about 3-4k miles after reset. I'm at a loss.

Yeah, I’m on my way right now to the dealership trying to get the transmission to act up so I could drive with the tech so he can see what it does and hopefully they could try to figure it out because before they couldn’t even get it to act up on their test drive but it’s consistent for me

good luck with that! :) i have been trying to do it with tech in truck too. It is so sporadic and random. They can't duplicate and i can't get it to do it with them in the truck.
