Hi all - I scrolled through 5 pages of posts and did a search and I'm not finding what I'm looking for... I know this has to have been discussed before so my apologies for not finding it. 2 questions:

1. What is a reputable vendor/brand of red LED bulbs for my 2021 XLT halogen tail lights? I saw a recommendation for Underground Lighting - any good? Recommend any others? https://undergroundlighting.com/pro...o-hyperflash-pair?_pos=4&_sid=485ccb521&_ss=r

2. I have a somewhat unique situation with my LEER cap. The wiring is a total cluster. I have spent hours tracing wires and trying to figure it out but I can't. The CHMSL turns on with the brake lights, but it also flashes with my left turn signal. Annoys me to no end. It is spliced into the left brake light wires, but also has one or two wires going all the way up to the massive braid of wires under the drivers door kick plate. I have routed a wire from the CHMSL wire under the hood all the way back to the cap to bypass the kick plate splice, but it does the same dang thing. Anyway, I'm concerned upgrading from halogen to LED will somehow interfere with my cap center brake light.

I am not afraid of Forscan - I can make the settings change from Halogen to LED to avoid getting a bulb with a resistor, but will that change anything about the power the cap is getting and cause issues up there? Leaning towards a resistor bulb just to avoid any potential issues here, but if anyone knows how that settings change works I would appreciate your thoughts here too.

Most rear LEDs will require a resistor to work properly. Lasfit used to sell rear LEDs with builtin electronics but they stopped due to hyper-flash issues. Interestingly, their front LED turn signal bulbs work fine in my truck.

There is a FORscan change that should eliminate the bulb out detection but I have no experience with that setting. Hopefully others who have will jump in.

Edit: Regarding your cap brake light flashing, I personally would first start by removing all the old aftermarket wiring and get the truck back to stock. Then perhaps you could tap off of the cab center brake light.

Sounds like maybe any internal resistor versions are not as reliable? Seeing issues with the underground ones I linked above.

I'd rather not spend more time with the cap wiring... just hoping to avoid issues by making a change to the brake lights now. Maybe this summer I'll redo the wiring again but definitely don't want to be out there in the winter at least.
