So I came from a tuned bolt ons+turbos 2012 FX4 to my 21 Tremor. I knew the truck would not feel anything close to my old one with the mods. I accepted it and have been driving the truck for 35k miles. Truck is completely stock as of right now, no tunes. Just driving around normally and getting on the throttle its lazy to build boost and major delay on when you push down the throttle until you get a response. It drives "fine", but not very peppy IMHO. No codes or miss fires either. It pulls fine on long WOT stretch's, and seems fine for power higher in the revs.

Recently I got a 2015 Ecoboost truck for work, its completely stock, 4x4 Screw. And man is it way more peppy and responsive. Truck "feels" 1000+ lbs lighter than my tremor just driving it around. This is what keyed me in that something seems off on my truck. The 16 is so much more "fun" to drive. It has way more punch off the line.

Anybody else notice this or is there something on my truck I should check? Im not sure if its a Throttlebody issue, worn plugs, or just the way the new trucks are tuned.

What tires are on the work truck? Have not driven Tremor but when I pulled Wrangler Duratrac AT tires off my 21 3.5 and replaced them with Michelin Defenders it was night and day. I don’t know what is stock on the tremor but they are oversized right? I’m guessing also a fairly aggressive off-road tread and rubber?

Stock Tires. Truck is 100% stock as of right now, minus a resonator delete to get rid of the rattle. They are 33". Truck has a 3.73 gear.

My work truck is probably 31-32" with a 3.55 gear.

FYI i have felt this all along about my current truck, it wasnt until my work truck and driving them basically back to back that I realized how bad it really is.

Are you using sport mode or just leaving it in normal? The throttle response is very different between eco, normal, and sport modes. Sport mode is definitely my favorite but I drive in normal 99% of the time so I can utilize electric driving on the PowerBoost. The throttle response is a bit too mushy for my taste in normal mode and can make the engine feel laggy sometimes even compared to my previous 2011 EB.

I run around in normal. Sport mode helps, but it has its own draw backs. It seems excessive lag/sluggish for normal.

I'd say something is off. The newer trucks have plenty more power to compensate for slightly heavier tires on the tremor. I don’t have any input but you seem to know that something is likely off.
