Truck starting making a whining noise. Most noticeable n deceleration when using regen braking. Took it in and they found the electric hybrid motor to be the issue and are replacing it.
they said the “hybrid trans axle” to be specific.
anyone else have this problem or hear of it? I have searched the google with no luck.

Well, its not a transaxle. The electric motor is integrated into the frontend of the 10R80. The start function is performed by either the the Belt Integrated Starter/Generator or the starter motor geared into the flywheel. Frankly a whining noise implies to me that a bearing is going out. To me that the whining is most notable on deceleration says you may have a U-Joint going out on the propeller shaft. If the whining is constant, just louder on deceleration, then it is somewhere in the driveline that is always rotating. Most likely on the input side of the transmission... So does it go away when the ICE is in off mode but rolling on the battery?
