Was driving down the highway at 60mph and experienced a total electrical failure. No dash information and monitor was not working. Received only a network error failure. After finding a safe spot to pull over I could not turn off the truck. Five minutes later the dash and monitor lit up and I was able to turn off the truck long enough before the truck exhibited the failure again. I have attached a copy of the error codes and my dealer said the truck was too dangerous to drive. Waiting for three days to get worked in the local Ford dealership here and was hoping someone might have insight into this type of problem. Attached are the failures! Thank you!

Similar thing happened to me. In hindsight, i believe it was cause by low battery voltage - make sure you check your main battery AND aux battery. Do a load test on them when they are disconnected from each other.

Thank you! I had my battery checked this past January during routine maintenance. Best to try it again. Thank for the recommendation!

you have a powerboost, so there's 2 batteries (as i'm sure you know). they are connected in parallel, so you MUST check them individually during a load test by physically disconnecting them. most dealers won't do this...

If i was a betting man, I'd wager that your AUX battery is toasted.

Ryan,

just picked up the F150 with the electrical failure and here is what was wrong; Gateway, IPC, APIM and TCC modules required updating. Fortunately, I had a premium care contract and a towing service to cover the cost. They could not tell me why this was not completed online and there was no recall. So, how to prevent this from happening again and shutting down the vehicle for good on a major highway…that’s the breaks for owning technology. Thank you for your suggestions though! Glenn

Ryan, I sent my service advisor your recommendation (which he appreciated) and indicated that he had an analytic analyzer that would immediately pinpoint the problem and would take it in consideration. When I picked up the truck, he had already checked out and the advisor could not tell me if the batteries were tested. I will ask him tomorrow if he tested the main and aux batteries and let you know. lol. When I called my local Ford dealer in the mountains during the failure, he stated a rodent must had eaten through the wires that caused the failure. This dealer had a conservative approach with the ability to detect software failures. After pick up this evening, she ran perfectly. Thanks again Ryan!

Turning, off.
Every now and thenmy truck just does.
There's nothing I can do,
it's a total eclipse of the hybrid.
Turn back on, bat'ry,
Turn back on, bat'ry.
And I need you now to run
And I need you more than ever
And if you only just turn back on
We'll be holding on forever
Turn back on, bat'ry,
Turn back on, bat'ry.
There's nothing I can do,
it's a total eclipse of the motorcraft.

21 PB have had a batch of bad OEM batteries. One of the best things you can do is just replace the set with quality aftermarket batteries. I have Duralast Platinum H7 from Autozone. At this point your factory battery is getting long in the tooth and repeated low voltage has aged it further.

Grab some peace of mind and swap them out. Remember to do a BMS reset after. If you only do a lot of short haul trips, keep it on a battery tender to protect the investment. I've had good luck with the NOCO Genius 10 that has a setting to charge AGM, std. 12V or Li.

Best of luck!
