I have a 21 powerboost and cold air blows out from around steering column. It is noticeable when temps are 45 and less. Worse the colder it gets outside and it blows right on my knees. I've looked under the dash and couldn't see anything obvious. Heat works just fine and I can choose between defrost, vents, and floors and they all work. I didn't see any open areas in firewall area either.

Anyone have this issue or some areas to check?

Might be worth it to check the engine bay side of the firewall. Hopefully it is as easy as a grommet that that doesn't fit tight, or possibly pushed through.

This was my thought as well. Especially since it gets worse when it's cold.

I'm sure there is a seal around the steering shaft where it passes thru the firewall.

The firewall was the first thing i checked. I thought for sure around the steering column the gasket would be missing but no. All penetrations are gasketed and sealed that I can see. Steering and main wire harness.
