21 PB Module Updates

Hey all, New owner of a 21 PB here. 50k miles with a ESP through Flood Ford for 150k miles. Took it to the dealer today to get a couple small things looked at and figured Id ask to have the modules updated while I was there. They wanted $225 per module (an hour of labor for each). Is this normal? Do I have any other options?

I had read on here somewhere that certain things like lane centering can be improved by updating the modules. What benefits do yall know of?

You can wait for updates to arrive over the air (OTA).

You can use a Mongoose cable and a $50 FDRS two-day license to update the truck yourself.

I'd start with posting your VIN in the VIN request thread to see what all updates are available to you and then determine if you want to move forward with updating on your own.

My understanding was that updating Modules was not something that happens OTA?

Is the Mongoose cable the same one that does Forscan? Sorry, but what is FDRS?

Updates to modules can come over the air. Some for Blue Cruise currently are not being pushed that way but are available with FDRS.

FDRS is the dealer software program that is used for updates.

The Mongoose cable is not the same as one used for Forscan.

I was just reading the VIN look up thread. Can my VIN be looked up now, or do I need to do something first? Thanks for any more help you can provide lol
