The truck is 4 months old, 6700 miles. I'm experiencing a loud whirring on startup after a cold sit (at least two hours). This is different than the normal 10 speed whine. It did not do it when driving off the lot, or for the first month. It's getting worse and lasting longer. 2 Ford dealerships claim "completely normal", even tho the service manager, says he clearly hears it. I am disappointed with this, in my first brand new truck, after my 2011 5.0 ran to 232 k with no issues. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Lots of various posts on this. Just under different descriptions.
My Oct 21 build truck has It.
It sounds like pump cavitation (getting air instead of fluid).
Many theories surrounding the auxiliary transmission pump and low fluid levels.

Trans fluid near top of operation range. My concern is its getting worse with time. Ford has no interest.

They claim typical trans issue, but some are worse. My expedition has the 10 speed, with the EcoBoost, quiet. The service manager who ride with me, says yea I hear it, and it's louder than normal, but still normal.

Hello, Keith! Send us a private message with your VIN and the name and location of your local Ford dealer. I’d be happy to see what I can do to assist with this noise concern on your F-150. Thanks!
