Exactly. I put in the highest efficiency speakers I could find, at a reasonable price, and that helped out my XLT. But then again I am 61 with tin ears from listens to the Scorpions When I was a young chap.Bass blockers on your door speakers? To use factory amp you need some really efficient speakers to maintain sound. 93db or better.
Probably help if you told us your system. Is it the non B&O 7 speaker system? If so you have the 15 watts or so coming from the head unit with no amplifier. Basic speaker swap out may help some but best I think is at least a four channel amp to power up your speakers. i had a guy build me a harness that gives me speaker level (full range) input to my amplifiers. Then output from amp to at least passive crossovers which will split proper frequency to your woofers/tweeters. I think the kicker key amp is really popular because of the built in DSP. If you don’t want to do that then like others said, high efficiency speakers is the best optionI was trying to cut more bass from door speakers. Yeah bass blockers out and sound came back. I believe i need to add amp for door speakers in order to filter that bass better.
