Your driveway will be ok. I promise.
Haha clearly I get it man. It was part of the aggrevation, I’m just saying I’ve only owned Fords my entire life. This is the kinda stuff I dealt with on my old pickups when I was a teenager. I’ve owned a 2015, and a 2021 brand new that never had any issues. I’ve owned an 85 Mustang GT, 95 F150, 97 Ranger, 97 Explorer, 99 Ranger, 00 Explorer, 01 Explorer, 03 F150, 15 F150, a 21 F150 and now this 24. I love the truck, but this kinda stuff just sucks. Came here to vent and see if anyone else experienced anything similar. I’m a Ford owner for life and not banging on the brand, just bummed. So while yes a driveway can be cleaned, and who cares it’s concrete it’ll clean up (I really don’t) it’s just the excitement of the new truck has faded from this as a result.

Yes.. I had a ‘17 2.7 with four oil pans. It almost put me in the hospital. I then went gmc.. and sold it for $7k more than i paid for it in max covid. With a $2500 ford rebate I ended up in a ‘22 f150 502A. But four recalls.. I have a ‘24 Tahoe.. V8.. no recalls on it.

this ‘22 ford pulls a trailer with little effort.. although I did do a ford esp warranty on this ‘22.

a rear main is not great Situation.. get a warranty on it. It’s worth it.

Damn man that’s awful…these comments make me feel less bummed (that is more common than I think). When I dropped it off the service advisor was polite and apologetic (not like it’s their fault). He read the notes and said “looks like you’re in here for an oil leak…wait a second…on a 2024?” I said yes, took delivery 3 weeks ago and the other two advisors looked over at me surprised. Waiting to hear back from them, I’ll let you guys know what comes about of it.

I think it only needs a little adjustments on the hood hinges, couple of minutes of work at your local shop and you're done.

Anyone have issues with OIL LEAKS?

2024 STX, 2.7L, 1500 miles, haven’t even made a payment yet…took delivery on 10/5/24 and my brand new $10,000 driveway has oil stains from my $54,000 Ford pickup. Looks like a rear main to me…disappointing. Goes into the dealer tomorrow morning for diagnose.

Good afternoon! Could you privately message us with your VIN and the name and location of your Ford dealer so we can look into this oil leak concern? Thank you!

What a pathetic comment.
Thanks, however, I'm a realist. I get the cost of a brand new concrete driveway and wanting it to look new. But, you can't control delivery drivers, plow drivers, etc. It will get scratched, stained, and it will crack. It sucks, but it's the truth.

As for the truck, frustrating is an understatement. Hopefully the OP gets a loaner.

Dealership claims they believe it’s “Rustproofing oil” that I had applied 2 and a half weeks ago. Clearly it is not as Rustproofing is clear and the entire truck has stopped dripping. I’ve worked on vehicles since I was 16, I know what motor oil looks like. They put UV dye in it to “confirm” it’s not coming from the motor and want me to return in a month. Funny though how if I clean the area and the truck isn’t running it doesn’t leak but after driving it, it’s leaking? Dealership replied “oh it could be from vibration if you have oil up top from the Rustproofing.” Well they only sprayed the underneath not the engine bay (as per my request) so that’s false.

These photos are from this morning with a black light. In addition to the oil it leaked last night. *Oh I’m sorry Rustproofing oil*

I guess... my advice is to get a Ford ESP warranty.. i did one that goes to 100k and 9 yrs. that give you a lot of time for it too continue. the ford warranties are cheap - cheaper than GM for sure. do the high deductible and have it...

My first ford was a 289 transplanted in a 1961 jeep. that was the best motor they ever made...
With trucks at $60k a crack... you have to get 5 or 6 years out of each one. get the warranty and move on.

oil leaks are quality... a new motor should not leak or burn. i am really grateful my 2.7 does not leak... though my first one was the worst motor i have ever had. and i had a lot of cars, trucks and jeeps. none of the toys or honda ever leaked oil... and the motors i rebuilt did not leak either. quality...

get that warranty... zielger is where i got mine. you have to put a line in there to get the $200 discount.

and i will also say.. ford was not too eager to fix my bad oil pan leaks on 2.7 number 1. Vance Ford. i hope you are not using them.

Steal one of the wife's cookie trays and put it under the truck until Ford hopefully fixes it. That's what I've done for years with my old cars that invariably drip from sitting and seals drying up.

Y'all might want to check out the latest JD Power full size truck quality rankings. F150 was in 9th place.

For my '24 I have noticed a drivetrain vibration in the 35-39 MPH range, driveshaft or tire balance but only felt in that speed range and road type doesn't matter. Also noticed that if I roll-up the passenger front window that the radio cuts out.
Yeah, my new 2024 has a vibration all the time; noticable from the steering wheel. I am going to get the tires rotated and Hunter road force balanced first.

Lol. I’m sure you would say something like that. JD power probably got paid more by GM this year than Ford did. I wouldn’t touch GM’s garbage with a 10 ft pole their engines are garbage and they’re all made in Mexico now.

Wrong.... The F150 sat #1 for many years on JD Power. So Ford was paying for that? No, Ford used to make "Quality Job 1" trucks. No more. And also no, some not all GMCs are made in Mexico. Don't throw stones about that when Ford is building all their Lincoln Nautilus suvs in China and importing them.
