Electrical issues in a 2024 F150

Has anyone else experienced these error messages when attempting to crank your truck? I purchased a 2024 XLT December 28th. In the 2 months, it has failed to crank 5 or 6 times, leaving me stranded, and each time I get these error messages in the video. After about an hour, it will crank. And then it will crank the next 5-10 days in a row, then it happens again. Very sporadic.

A local Ford service department had it about a week and could not detect the problem. An early test did show the PCM board was not connecting to the engine when this happens. They ran several diagnostic tests once they had it, and adjusted all the wiring from the PCM, but it continues the same problem. But they will not replace anything because the additional testing does not show any part needing to be replaced. What might be the issue, if Ford service mechanics can't diagnose it? Thanks!

If possible, I would either try a different Ford dealership or contact Ford directly and request they send a representative to your dealership to review this issue. Sometimes it's just a matter of finding the right mechanic. I know this sucks and may be inconvenient, but it beats an unreliable truck. Good luck.

Could be the "bad battery" issue many have experienced. If you have the original OEM battery it may be worth swapping with a known good battery or replacing altogether.

I recently had a rear wheel bearing go out ... strange thumping from rear, no vibrations, just a thump at low speeds when lightly braking, like what you do when you leave your home in the morning driving down the cul de sac to the stop sign at the end of the block. Dealer diagnosed it within an hour ... called to tell me, we hear it, we believe we know what it is, etc. Well, fast forward 14 days later - I finally got so irritated with the service people I went straight to the mechanic. He said Ford will only approve the repair after they try all of these other ideas from their "book" ... wheel balancing, tire removal and rebalancing, running the drive train in the air, removal of the drive shaft and checking for balancing, resurfacing the brake rotors, removal of the rear brakes for inspection and on and on ... until they finally approved the bearing replacement. What a mess and a waste of time ... I was charged nothing, but had to use a crappy loaner car for over two weeks.

You are the only other person I've ever seen that has had the exact same issue as I did. This happened after I pulled off the lot with 16 mi. All I know is they replaced a shit ton of parts and had my truck for 3 weeks.

I took it to another Ford Dealership, and a veteran mechanic looked at the odometer reading when it would do this action. With a ------ (blank) reading, he knew it was an electrical issue. He looked underneath the truck and found the problem. A poor job of wrapping the wiring of the truck. He had that wiring harness replaced, and I have not had a problem with it since that service date. Ford did provide a cash amount to me for the multiple engine failures. Good luck to you.
