Got my new truck yesterday. Delivered to my house. Checked it out at the dealership last week and signed the paper work. Moving all my gear into new truck and getting to know her…. And a few issues popped up. Can you folks help

1- front drivers side sensor blocked - it is not- when I start up the truck and put it into gear I get the message on the screen saying “front parking sensors blocked”. Then the cameras turn on. The tone going off showing front drivers side sensor blocked. I cleaned it off. Check under bumper. Nothing there. It also does this as I slow down the truck or stop

2- auto start/stop not engaging. Pull up to full stop. Start/stop symbol shows on dash in grey with line through it. I know a lot of people hate it. But that is beside the point. It’s not working. Checked that it was turned on properly. Everything is on.

3- folding mirrors on lock not engaging - this is one of the things I checked at the dealership last week. There it was working. Yesterday. It won’t. I checked the button inside to see that they worked. Yup. They fold in.
on lock I get no horn notifications. Unless I press the button on the FOB again within the 3 seconds and I’ll get the double horn. I checked the settings and all doors. Tail Gate. And hood. Everything appears to be locked and secure. Yet the mirrors stay out.
4- tail gate doesn’t drop on button push release. I’m sure it just catching on the cover and this one doesn’t have tail get step (which sucks) so it’s very light ….. ?

Any ideas?????

Congrats on your new truck and sorry to hear you are already having issues. If it were me, I would either take it on a long drive or put it on a smart charger. There are countless threads about electrical issues with these trucks when the battery needs charged, especially the auto start/stop function.

Congrats on the new truck! Here's my take on some of your issues.

1. Sometimes ice, snow, or heavy fog will affect the sensors. When you say it's not blocked, are you referring to the area in front of the sensor or on the sensor itself? Or, perhaps there is a piece of transport wrap stuck to it? (not sure if Ford covers that area for transport)

2. The truck needs to meet certain criteria before the auto start/stop will engage. Temp of engine, cabin, driving mode, etc.

3. I believe there is a toggle in Sync that needs to be turned on for the mirrors to fold when doors are locked. You may want to find that and see if it is "on".

4. I have a soft folding tonneau cover and my tailgate doesn't drop when released. Likely happening on yours, too.

Hope this helps!

I see you are in Toronto.

Tailgate: I don't have the electric opening just the unlatch and drop down system. So if I get really cold temps it barely opens- and needs a helping hand. Mirrors might be the same way.

Auto start issue - SOLVED
last truck didn’t have the pano roof. Was still sitting around going over all this stuff in my head. Then it occurred to me that maybe I’m losing heat to it and it’s constantly trying to warm up the cab. Decided to close it. Started truck and let it warm up. Engine and cab. Significantly warmer today outside . Pulled up to first stop. And it worked

@skiteton its on. I double and tripled check that. I also opened and slam shut all doors. Still noting

Congrats on the new truck! :)

On my '24 XLT, I have to hit the tailgate button twice to get it to pop (no cover).

I have found - this week - with the bad weather in the Southeastern US - that my tailgage is binding on the cover as well. Turns out there was condensation which turned to ice and that is what was hanging it up. I'd check and see if that's what's happening with yours.

for the drivers side sensor being blocked, swap it with the passenger side sensor. if the problem follows the sensor, you know its bad, if it stays on driver side, its a wiring issue or something else the dealership will have to diagnose.

So anyone with this truck.
When I lock the doors (door or fob) the mirrors are supposed to fold in. And I would assume another alert (flashing lights, horn …?). But I get nothing.
If I double press I get two quick honks
In settings it shows something about alerting if you engage the lock button more than once in three seconds on the FOB

further testing…. I left a rear door ajar and locked it. No alerts. Nothing.

so I assume something is not latching down. And that’s why mirrors are not folding.
When I’m in the truck…. There is nothing telling me a door, hood, tail gate… is open.
What am I missing????

Push and hold the lock button on the fob. They should fold in.

UPDATE!
So there I was, reading ever forum, changing ever setting. Car wash. Blah blah blah

I don’t have the auto tail gate up anymore (which is the capital of planet horse shit because I loved that option) and was loading my hockey gear into the back. Gave the tail gate a nice slam as I was a bit pissed at the outcome of our game

the next day I remote started and came out side to the truck a few minutes later. Hit the unlock as usual and heard the mirrors unfold.
WTF

hit the lock button and they folded in. WTF

Got in the truck and stated it. Put it in drive and no sensor issues
WFT

drive to a buddies house and reversed into drive way. On the back up screen the back up guide lines appeared

W in The actual F

all has been good and proper.
Until today.
My son grabbed his gear out of the back of the truck as I dropped him off. I watched him close the gate with the strength of a dying butterfly

put into drive and boom! Sensor blocked.
put into reverse and boom! No guide lines on the screen

I can only assume the mirrors wouldn’t fold in but I was still in drive.
Parked the truck. Opened tail gate and slammed it shut.
All back to normal.
Seriously Ford???? WTF
