I miss this camera a lot considering it was on my MY21 F150 XLT 302A, but not on my MY24 F150 Lariat 502A. Such nonsense by Ford.

Me too! I had it on my 2022, used it a lot! Have the same truck as you for 2024, yet they still have the bed cam “deleted due to shortage”. I might remove the 3rd brake later and see if I can find that plug—if it’s still there.

Hi just joined the forum after picking up my new 2024 King Ranch which does not come with the CHMSL camera - it was not even an option on the camera menu. I removed my non-camera 3rd brake light and pulled the harness and saw there were a number of excess wires than the 3 used on the standard light. So I ordered the following part from a Ford dealer parts online - it came with the camera included.

I then just installed it and ran the FORScan changes the others have suggested and it worked! So if you have the additional wires in the harness under the existing light, it is likely that it will work!

As far as the wire harness, that thread has some good pictures - I didn’t take a picture of the clip before I removed, but there is a plastic body clip poking up in the very middle hole when you remove the light - you need to squeeze and push that through the hole to disconnect the wire harness below it so you can pull through the connector - once that is done you can pull it up and through the hole on the right and see the connector that was in my original picture - that’s the one that had the extra wires where I decided that I’d take a chance and order the part.

A couple of other things - if you order the part from a ford dealer parts department, they will ask you for your VIN and may tell you it is not compatible with your 2024 (unless a Platinum, in which case you already have it!). It’s going for around $450 online. The dealer I ordered from told me it was non-returnable, so I took the risk and figured I could sell on EBay for probably $100 loss. But you will need to order at your own risk - I have no idea if it will work on Lariat or other trims - just that it worked on mine, and would assume that those with the 360 cam setup will have the wiring available since it used to be standard.

When I first received my 24 LARIAT 501A w/ 360 Cameras, I removed the CHMSL to see if my C913 Connector had the appropriate wires terminated in the plug. I only have 3 wires in the gray plug and that is connected to another harness (I believe it had a brown plug) that goes to the Light Assembly. I am gonna pull the light again and post up a pic. Workshop Manual even shows C913 having all wires populated.

Here are the pics. 3 wires on C913. Here are some Wiring Diagram from the 2024 Workshop Manual for the CHMSL w/ Camera and the CHMSL. The CHMSL (Light Only) Diagram has power on pin 1 (Yellow/Grey) and Ground on pin 12 (Black/Yellow). Pin 2 (white/Green) Puddle Lamps (Kerb Illum). So, I am SOL for an easy plug and play solution. Looks like that 22AWG Shielded Ethernet Cable I have leftover will work to terminate the empty pins on C913. What pins are needed for that? I must say that I am pretty pissed about this Ford. All this does is lose money for Ford when Customers want to add things to their trucks. The other thought process, they do this to push you into the Platinum Plus if you want a Bed Cam. That Job 2 MY24 King Ranch does NOT have a Bed Cam, and has all wires terminated. Makes ZERO sense. C'mon Ford. Whaaaaaaa

To top it off. I just received an email that my Center Rear Step for the new Pro Access Tailgate I got for 20% Off and paid with my Ford Pass points was just cancelled. I ordered this back in June when the part was first released on the Accessories website. Been on hold for over an hour to see why they cancelled it.

Thank you for this! Yeah it seems if you have more than 3 wires then you’re wired for it! Do you have 360 cams already?

Yeah the shortages have been insane lately. If you haven’t seen the 2025 order sheet yet, be prepared. There’s changes and removals including the driver side b-pillar keypad removed but is optional at the dealer only. Also HUD removals and all, yikes. I’m glad my 2024 Lariat 502A came in before all this mess.
