2024 5.0 Engine Noise

Just purchased a brand new 2024 F150 5.0 from the dealership. Within a couple of weeks I noticed ticking/flickering engine noise. I am not getting the typewriter tick from the past coyote generations. I know 2024 is the new GEN IV coyote but does anyone have any idea what’s making the noise? Of course when I brought it back to the dealership they said that’s typical engine noise Add would not look into it further because it’s not throwing a code. I only noticed this noise when I pop the hood or at a drive-through with a wall right next to me. I noticed this noise on cold starts, warmed up, all the time. I’m just trying to pinpoint where the noise comes from, maybe I need to buy a mechanic stethoscope and investigate my self. Please advise if your 2024 does the same.

Could it be the direct injection injectors which tend to be loud compared to the previous multi port fuel injection that you hear.

I doubt changing the oil would help.

Mine doesn't make that noise. Ticking would make me think fuel injectors, honestly. But could it be the oil pump belt, serpentine belt tensioner? Nothing to be done for it at the dealer unless you can isolate it more, it throws a code, or something let's go. But at least you got it on the record with the dealer.

I heard it can be injectors, lifters, exhaust manifold, belt ??‍

I believe mine sounds like that too and that sounds like the direct injectors firing to me. You will hear it the most next to a wall obviously because of the noise reflection. Direct injection is loud because it runs at very high pressures.

These trucks also have another set of injectors that is a MPFI system which is awesome because it helps clean the intake valves. Vehicles that only run direct injection will eventually suffer from carbon contamination on the intake valve causing power loss over time. Ford spent the money to essentially give you two fuel injection systems, giving you the best of both systems. The whining noise is the transmission pump which is also normal for these trucks.

I have to pick up a prescription tomorrow at walgreens where I notice stuff like this when I drive close to the building wall, so I will try to listen to mine and the injector noise to confirm it but from your video this sounds like the direct injection system, which is normal.

I was going to say the whirring sounds like the 10 speed, just a bit louder in your case. It's a common noise for these with the way the gears are cut or some voodoo like that.

Mine fully warmed up at low idle. Sticking an iPhone right on top of the engine for a video is like zooming in on your teenager's zitty face for a portrait. These engines aren't quiet, but this is totally normal:

I went through the drive through today next to a wall but I didn't hear a ticking like yours, just the whining of the transmission. It was 37-degrees out so maybe it was not using the direct injectors at that time, IDK. I would suggest getting a cheap automotive stethoscope and take off the nose piece and use it with the engine running to try and locate the source of the noise. if it is originating around the injectors like 24STX5.0 video shows then I would say it’s definitely the fuel injectors.
