2023 F150 XLT 2WD Tow Hooks

I want to put tow hooks on my two wheel drive. There looks to be an area that if I could remove the trim I could bolt in a tow hook. Anyone done this?

Should be mounting, have you crawled under to see what's behind the plastic. Maybe get a 4x4 front plastic, will already be cut out.

On my 2014 I replaced the front air dam to a 4 wheel drive air dam. No painting needed. Just screwing in and out air dam bolts and bolting the hooks in. It was exactly how it was done on the 4wd. Since that area is painted on my 2023 it will get expensive if there is no way to get those outlined cut outs removed. It appears to me that will work if I unscrew enough bolts to get behind them. I don't know if the hooks will bolt in, like my 2014 did, or if that is another project.

Anyway, what was simple and cheap on my 2014 seems complicated and expensive on my 2023. If that is the case then I won't do it, but I sure like the looks with those hooks there.

The little slots that can be removed from the 2wd valance are not large enough to install factory tow hooks. I tried. If you want to keep factory plastic try the misimoto billet tow hooks. If not you have to replace the valence with the 4wd version, this allows you to install the factory tow hooks. This is the route I took!

How do those little slots come out. I tried prying one out, but quit when I figured I was about to break it. Do I need to drop the valance?

There are 2 screws per cover then a push tab. I can’t remember if it was 7mm or Phillips drive. You have to come from behind the valence, look around the area on the frame ends that will help you locate the screw/bolts. But even with those covers removed there isn’t enough room to install factory tow hooks.

I did not remove the bumper, pretty sure I did it with a screwdriver socket! It’s super tight.

Ahhhh ok, was there any access from above when you lift the front hood or did you go from under the truck? I’m sorry for all the questions

I was under the truck, above where the tow hooks bolt up.
