Simple question. Not allowed to lift more than 10lbs for a few months. Can anyone tell me what weight/force is required to close the tailgate with the step in it on a 2022 f150?

Doesn't the step only come with power tailgate?

push the button on your Fob, or on the tailgate or even inside the truck :) If you have the option . best of luck on your recovery mate

I have the step on my 2021 XLT without power up/down (release only).

I'm sorry to say I think it probably exceeds 10 pounds to close the tailgate. Probably closer to 20 but that is a guess. You would likely need help to close it while you recuperate.

Pretty darn good guess.

For a non-step tailgate I got 20lbs with a few different tries and orientations with a digital pull scale at the very edge (where it would be the easiest).
Thanks. I don't have a pull scale available.

Nope. I have the step and tailgate release, but I have to push it back up myself.

It's more than a gallon of milk's worth of effort so I'd just wait if it where me. At 57, my recovery time is longer than it used to be. Why risk a setback?

I have a manual-up tailgate with step and just shoved ~18" of vac pipe into one of the clamp holes and measured 14lbs so you're going to have to get creative. Might consider attaching something at a clamp point to provide mechanical advantage to assist.
