I am sure that others have noticed the oil pressure gage on the dash moving around, and me being curious (and likely asking a stupid question) but is that at all tied to the VVT control. It seems like when the truck has a slight load on the engine (going up a hill, etc..) I can watch it move to higher pressure right before the boost gage starts to comes up. Almost like it is boosting the pressure to phase the cams. Also there is much more fluctuation based on what drive mode I am in. Eco mode the gage is much slower reacting than in normal or sport.
Again just curiosity, thought I would ask if anyone knew an "official" answer.

i have noticed mine moving, but not very much in relation to throttle

its mostly an idiot gauge, as it was explained to me

I believe the OP's Tremor displays actual sensor-based numeric oil pressure values, a feature others can't display even with FORScan trickery (different IPC module) :(

Even with that, the Tremor number display probably uses some kind of 'buffer' to make the often rapidly changing values readable, creating what could be perceived as 'data lag'.

makes sense, raptor has the neat oil pressure and temp thing we dont either
WHY WHY WHY ?
my superduty had oil temps?
crazy at how things that are important are not there for everyone

I'd like to have oil temp, too, but so it goes.

At least the simple FORScan tweak provides numeric sensor-values for engine coolant and tranny temp, so those are my 'proxies' for what's happening in the oil sump temperature-wise. ;)

IME even a good oil pressure gauge just serves to say "too late, you just got screwed", essentially the same as an 'idiot gauge'

not necessarily
My 98 chev was losing oil pressure at idle, not really something to get too worked up over.
But when it started to drop to zero it was time for another engine.
Even the indicator lamp vehicles gave a quick warning, they lit up at 7 lb.
Not a big deal if pressure came up off idle.
Unless—you are already winding at 4k.

my 66 ElCamino has a serpentine system and I have an oem type gauge with an alt lamp in the lower dash.
Was a great indicator that I had lost a belt before temps got too high as the oem type gauges do not have a lamp.
Attention getters

Might be a forscan value somewhere to change the vehicle type that the IPC reads?
