It's been some time since I addressed the shortcomings of the CCD damping on my truck. It's coming up on 3 years, in fact.

With that much time and the ability to look back, I think my advice today is don't put the Asbuilt tasks as the priority.

I would absolutely install the rear Antisway first. It's such an influence on the overall dynamics of the chassis. Admittedly it doesn't increase the damping in the rear of the truck, but it substantially reins in some of the negatives of the underdamping.

Drive the truck a few days/weeks afterwards and then try the Forscan edits. The longer you wait to try them, the more accurate your judgment will be about the results.

Throwing a rear Antisway, RAS, and the Forscan edits back to back quickly, can possibly cloud what modification is doing what. And honestly, there's considerable overlap.

As for the exact changes I made personally? All I can say is that I'm satisfied enough that I enjoy the truck and nothing really irritates me. Except the fact that EVERYTHING about the drivability of my truck in Sport Mode is better. The reason that's an irritation is that I can't have my cake and eat it too. ?

It shifts better
It rides better
It just feeeeels better
The ICE PIDs are happier too. Which is my way of saying the internal combustion engine is happiest.

But it's a Hybrid for crying out loud.
Ford won't let it be a Hybrid in Sport Mode. Argghhhhhh ?

Thanks so much for the advice. While I was waiting for my sway bar I did go ahead and try your forscan edits. They made a world of difference. Really planted the truck in Normal. As you mentioned, Sport is still best, even better than it was before. Such a relief. The difference is certainly more than just stiffer dampening. Its a much more dynamic change between the modes.

I played some with the WheelRate, I could only detect minor differences compared to the "mass" settings. Since we don't know if it affects both front and rear I set it back to stock. BTW my stock value was slightly lower than yours. 2D = 45 mm vs your 48. Perhaps because I have the short bed.

Next I'll install the sway bar and test with/without edits.

That's great news.
There's so much potential in an active suspension, especially at such reasonable co$t, that it'd be a shame to not be able to dial it in enough to enjoy.

Suspension is subjective, of course, but I bet you are going to really like the addition of the Antisway.

Good to know for my short bed..
Thanks for the updates and clarification before I start my process.

I just saw a reply on another thread I created a long time ago. I never even thought to check in Forscan for the simple mode.

Sounds like a really quick way to edit values and then conveniently do a quick A<>B comparison.

Would love to see a screenshot of the simple mode for the VDM. If nobody beats me to it, I'll try to remember to post one up.

Default value is vehicle payload. I’ll bump it up by 1000# and give it a test ride. That would be great to get the Sport CCD setting in all drive modes that simply.

Do we think this will modify those same lines in forscan or do we need to return those back to stock first?

Let us know!

I don't know. Really looking forward to some test feedback. I have my truck trapped in the barn by someone's racecar trailer up on jacks. I unfortunately gave them a thumbs up for using the barn for a few days. ??

And it was a beautiful day too. Arghhh

Looks like you all have figured out the shock issue and agree. So a question from a P/U noob.
Ordered my Plat s/b CCD/ Scales May '24, Sept 28 took ownership. Shock issue you have all been great in resolving my concern. Installed Steed sway over Thanksgiving and as with all my previous car best $$ spend IMO.
So adjust the 3 1/2" rake question? Ready Lift front ($575) or remove rear pucks ($0)? Another thread stated there's no way to turn off Scales which I am regretting that I added them. No plan for bigger wheels/tires. Thoughts?

Thanks!

Got a chance to drive a known route that included some local 35 to 50 mph roads and some interstate with decent S curves entrance and exit I set the Forscan values 2357# and 1069 kg

Did 1 loop on the route then reset to stock values and a 2nd loop. All in Normal drive mode.

Notably, in all the stock driving I’ve done with this truck when I use to switch to Sport mode the improvement in handling would show up the most to me on the interstate S curves on/off ramps as body roll was much improved from Normal mode. But overall Sport mode suspension handling was firmer and reduced body roll in turns and generally felt more planted over patchy asphalt on the in town roads.

So the test today and the 1000 # increase in “value” I felt like in Normal mode the handling was much improved and drove very similar to stock Sport mode if not slightly firmer. At the end I reset the values back from stock to #2357 / 1079 kg and briefly compared Normal to Sport and back and forth. This was just on 45 mph local roads as I had run short on time. I was anticipating that Sport mode would be extra firm but I didn’t feel that. Normal mode and sport mode felt the same to me.

I’ll be trying the Interstate ramp test again with the new setting and switching back and forth Normal to Sport to see how it reacts. But so far It seems to change the shocks performance like @Snakebitten poster commented..

Interesting that your sport and normal don't feel different from each other with the higher settings. Makes me think there is a difference between the simple vs complex edits in forscan.

When I made @Snakebitten complex edits to 950kg, I definitely feel a difference between Normal and Sport. It feels the like these edits pushed both modes stiffer.

Will do some testing later this week

OK, finally hopped on the forscan train! I've done the simple forscan changes and feeling pretty good. I'm now ready to firm up the ride here! I'm trying to interpret what @Snakebitten posted earlier, but I'm struggling a bit. Here are my values in what I believe to be the right area of the VDM module:

I see the O2EE value, but not O2OD, so mine must be a bit different. I also seem to be short some lines of text here unless I'm missing something? Sorry for the newbie questions! Any help is appreciated.

You have to really study the forscan sheet to see where each value goes. They don't necessary all go in one "box". Some are split between cells. See below

One more thing, is it odd both these values are zero?
