2021 Powerboost, hard highway shifting and surging

Hi folks,

My ‘21 powerboost with 31000km has started hard downshifting from 10 to 9, as well as 9 to 8. Then when coming back up through the gears, it surges in between shifts (almost like it won’t seem to go into gear). Have seen 3500rpm plus in between shifts before it settles in gear. Not a very comfortable situation when trying to pass another vehicle and seemingly have no gears for a while.

I have had this thing back to the shop so many times for so many issues that it is really astounding, when it works, it seems to work well. Then out of the blue, weird shifting and all sorts of stuff. Anyone experience these types of issues?

There are a few TSBs out there for reprogram, break-in valve procedure, then checking for CDF failures etc.

I don't know if they're specific to those 8-9-10 gears, however.

I believe this would be considered "powertrain", right? Should still be under warranty?

This was indeed an internal transmission problem. Eventually mine was replaced and was covered by power train warranty. Be sure to get the dealer or shop to check internally as mine had clutch pieces within the fluid!
