2021 limited P/boost transmission warranty?

Hi all looking for feedback.
Just dropped my truck at dealer for transmission trouble that seems to be commonplace with this transmission.
Approx. 85,000 miles, 140k
Very harsh shifting, shuddering, loss of power, gears jumping, going into 8th gear when slowing down, going into neutral, etc.
I have full warranty until 2027 or another 30k kms. Dealer told me it was a 2 hour diagnostic charge to start with which is fine and it will be waved if under warranty and I will just have to pay 100$ deductible.
They just called and told me tranny is pooched and they need to tear it down.
I said ok, it’s under warranty right?
He said he didn’t know until it was apart.
He asked me to authorize 8 hours of work to find out. Pretty close to $2k to start.
Is this normal?

Doesn’t seem right that you would be potentially out of pocket for any of it if you have extended warranty.

No, that’s not normal. It’s horse crap. I have a 21 power boost Limited and that transmission pretty much crapped out about 32,000 miles with similar issues in gears 8, 9 and 10. They dropped the tranny out of the truck took it apart enough took some pictures & sent it to Ford and Ford said they would send a new transmission to them or reman and not to bother to try and rebuild it. It had too many failure points.

Like PB2021 said, "something don't sound right" I totally agree. I'm in Alberta I had 2 Transmissions fail in my 23 Lariat, I also quite old and don't know how to use the PM on this system we chat on here. I have a solution for you, I ask that you PM me please.

It's under warranty, you should not have to pay a dime. Not even a deductible. I just had the gasket for my oil pan for the transmission replace and I didn't pay a penny. I have a Powerboost 2021. Good luck!

Difficult to say with your being in Canada, but it sounds like typical dealer service CYA crap until Ford confirms warranty coverage for the transmission. I'd definitely place a call to the service manager about it.

It's under warranty, you should not have to pay a dime. Not even a deductible. I just had the gasket for my oil pan for the transmission replace and I didn't pay a penny. I have a Powerboost 2021. Good luck!

Thank you, I have not heard back from dealer yet, I will call him tomorrow.
My top tier ESP warranty that cost me over 4K clearly states 100$ deductible.
I wasnt aware I could get a no deductible warranty.

You can get the ESP with a 0, 50, 100, or 200 deductible at the time of purchase, at least in the USA you can. Not sure how it works over the border.
