So, all my outlets also don't work in my 2021 F-150 and the dealership told me $1k to replace the entire wire harness + the bed outlet per the Technical Bulletin that we all know exists on this issue (I missed the 3 year warranty that would have covered this by 1 month, that was fun).

I've heard that the bed outlet being faulty could cause all the outlets not to work so firstly I'm wondering if there is a way to test that theory and secondly is it possible to only replace the bed outlet WITHOUT replacing the entire wire harness?

Can you sneak in an extended warranty real quick? Call Granger tomorrow.

OK, multiple issues, here we go. Ground fault detected utilizing PPOB, Dealer says 110v outlet in cab is bad and want $500.00. Part number MU5Z19A487DA is on Ford.Com for $228.00. I have the Premium Care ESP and they tell me this part is not covered. Ford TSB 24-2020 shows diagnosis and solution. Friend of mine had same issue with 110v outlet in cab and was replaced under the ESP premium care plan. My deductible is $200.00. This whole scenario doesn't make sense. What gives?

Wiring harness' are explicitly listed under the Premium ESP coverage (at least now). Its hard for me to comprehend how an outlet isn't part of a wiring harness, no different than any other terminal connector. Maybe point this out to your dealer? Or go to the dealer your friend went to?

Oh, It gets better... Initially wanted the dealer to change oil, rotate tires and replace the battery with an H8. I get to the dealer today and am charged $264.00. (I'm thinking this is a little on the low side for a new H8.) I pay, drive off, and look under hood, (b/c in the past I've found screwdrivers and sockets left behind by the techs), and want to see if they even opened the oil filler cap. To my surprise the 4 yr old battery is still in place. Back to the dealer I go. I ask the service advisor what exactly was performed for $264.00? He says an H8 was installed, "you know the one under the seat, the small one." At this point I'm really confused as every H8 I've seen goes under the hood. Baffled, befuddled and bewildered. Unbelievable, he says "you wanted an H8". Well I guess I got one. Didn't know I had to specify, the under the hood battery.
To top it off, No RECEIPT. The service advisor says, since your ticket R/O is still open we don't give you a receipt. Scratching my head..I've never heard of that before.

So I go to another dealer, and ask the service mgr for an H-8, and I mention by the way, my sync screen says ground fault detected, RESET. Svc manager says oh that's an easy one. That's what it's supposed to do in test mode. Just like your GFCI at home, you push test, the button pops and you reset. Now it starts to make sense. So I ask the svc mgr for something that takes 110v, he hands me a small desk fan, we plug it in the dash, Viola, it works. I push the Test mode while the fan is plugged in, Ground fault detected, fan stops. I hit Reset, fan starts. Now it becomes clear to me. The other dealer didn't even test the 110v outlet, didn't know what they were talking about, and wanted to charge me $500.00 for the $200.00 part that ESP supposedly wouldn't cover. At this point, I'm starting to wonder about the first dealer. Just what did they do for $264.00 and how on earth could a request for an H8, be misinterpreted for the underseat aux battery.
Pathetic. I still don't have a receipt and can't imagine they'd let me walk out of the dealer without a receipt. Seems like a huge liability issue to me. I'm still waiting on the receipt via email, and will demand a refund for the "H8" that they installed under the rear passenger seat.

That is unbelievable. Should be a way to report dealers to Ford for gross incompetence. But then Ford would still have to do something about it.

Ford will hear about it during the survey which comes after each service. Dealer number “one” will get my honest and candid feedback. They’re going to wish they’d given me a refund, and if I don’t get a receipt the BBB and google reviews will hear about it as well. Dealer number two will be my future service dealer of choice. I hope your dealer of choice has more expertise with these computers on wheels, considering it’s the 5th yr of production.
