Is there a setting on my 2021 to turn off that changes back to the factory default settings after a system update? Everytime it updates it changes things back to default settings. Not major things. Just things like max idle time, auto volume compensated speed, etc...

MY 2021 in the first year or so reverted display settings. The most annoying one was the switching of the turbo pressure read-out graphic back to default. This resetting has stopped over the past year, not sure which update "fixed" this, but as someone that works with software, some Ford engineer will inadvertently re-introduce this 'feature'.

The turbo/trans swap is still happening to my 21. Happened again on Monday of this week. No rhyme or reason I can find.

Only thing that should reset after updates is your IPC (speedometer) settings. Nothing else should be getting reset. A handful of updates will cause other settings to reset but those were long ago.

@q2bruiser James, if the Instrument Cluster (IPC) ever goes "dead" while the power is on (engine on or off), that is the IPC rebooting itself. When that happens, as @fordtruckman2003 said, you always will lose your MyView settings, the turbo gauge being one. You probably already know all that, but my advice is to go to the Request VIN Lookup thread and ask them if there are updates for your truck to be done.

What is your SYNC version? Rev 1049 is the latest; if you're not on that, you likely have updates needed, and the IPC may be one.

So far, after 2 updates, it's changed my settings back to default on: my speedometer brightness, speed compensated volume and my max 30 min idle. Not that big of a deal but doesn't sound like there's a way to turn that off.

It's not gone dead/rebooted on me before. I will have to verify which rev I am on.
