2021 XLT Screw 5.0,4x4,302Asport,
Congrats on your new ride.
1: Ride Comfort. That's pretty obvious difference unladen with the Ram bettering the Ford. That's coil springs for you. But I bet the factory tire pressures are still there. Dropping that down to 35 makes a difference. Throwing a camper on the rear and loading up the truck makes a difference.
2: Seats; Driving the Ram laramie just as Covid struck convinced me going to a first truck made sense. They are very comfy seats in the XLT to. Best we've ever had.

So why didn't I get a Ram? It would have cost 75k or 25% more than my XLT to get a ram with all the adaptive cruise etc that I wanted. You do close to 1000 miles in a day, you need every tool available to do it safely

Choose the one that's more powerful and faster
I've lifted all my trucks, if I wanted faster Id lower and add a Whipple LOL
But I've had a 12 second truck as a daily in the early 90s. And have built a plethora of Mustangs for my two sons. Fast is fun, but too much work LOL

But if the F150 sold...Id test drive a 5th Gen Ram for sure. :)

My 2018 driver was 485HP.

If you think these seats are horrible, you're lucky you didn't have an earlier generation. I traded my 2020 Raptor for my 2023 Lariat. To me, the seats feel the same. I'm 6'3" 260 and they're pretty comfortable. I had a 2012 F150 and the seats in that were horrible. As nice as these things are, they are still trucks. My Lariat rides better than my daughter's 7 series BMW SUV.
In my experience, Ford seats take a little while to break in.

lol I liked the seats in my 04 maybe even better than my 2022. I might not have the adjustments dialed in perfectly, but there's a weird bolstering about midway up the back that throws me off. I think the seat angle is kinda different too.

The Ram 1500 (not that 1500 classic bullshit from the back of the fridge in 2008) seems alright. I just hate the dash and wheels. Chrysler doesn't make good wheels typically. I feel like coil springs in a truck are a weird move too. I can't speak for the newer Ram, but the last few gens had really crappy beds too.

as an owner of both an F150 and a Ram 1500 they both have their pros and cons. however if i was being held at gunpoint and could only choose one i would go with the Ram..

There's only one brand and one model of pickup truck in the world that offers the native 7.2KW generator.
So until the competition steps up to the plate, there's only one choice for me.

Unless I too want to have one of each. :)

I've never owned a Ram, but have been in the drivers seat a few newer models. I can't comment on most of the comparisons, but he's dead on about the seats. The Ram seat blows the 150 seat out of the water. In my opinion, the seat is the weak spot on the new 150's. Too small and overly bolstered for my taste.
i feel the same way about the size lol.. however i do wholeheartedly believe my Lariat seats are so much more plush than my Laramie seats.

Because it's preferrable to have a weaker drivetrain, lower payload and less capable vehicle?

After 3 weeks and nearly 800 miles I have noticed several differences in my new Lariat from my old Bighorn

1 The Bighorn has a much better ride
2 The Lariats turn radius is much larger, making it more difficult to park
3 The seats in the Lariat suck, the seam from the leather trim to seat is literally a PIA and the lumbar support is not as good
4 The seat belt rubs my neck no matter how I adjust the seat or the belt itself
5 Being nearly 2 inches taller the Lariat is more difficult to get in and out of.
6 The center console is not as user friendly

I went with Ford since it has a greater payload for hauling and towing, but I will be selling the Lariat the day after we stop camping
So why did you have to come here and tell us this, like we care about the ram. Why not go the the ram fan boy room and tell them how bad the F150 is. Thanks for letting us all know your departing.

i could give a damn about what’s a piece a paper says. at the end of the day i’m paying for my desires not others.. lol
I get that. I'm the same way and I desired to destroy every half-ton ram not named TRX and succeeded by spending my money on a F150 PowerBoost 4x4 Sport lol

Ok, I really didn't think about that at all. I just wanted the best truck to fit my needs and I think I did that.

...But it was fun to say that other stuff I must admit lol ;)
