Picked up yesterday. Just noticed I have quite a rust issue on my transfer case. Completely unacceptable in my book. Taking it back in soon to get it looked at.

I’ll have to look at mine also. I have been seeing this an issue with a lot of other trucks.Picked up yesterday. Just noticed I have quite a rust issue on my transfer case. Completely unacceptable in my book. Taking it back in soon to get it looked at.![]()
I assume you are referring to this? 250 miles on mine. Looks like it's a trip back to the dealer. Are any of your guys with Powerboost engines having issues with coolant leak at center of vehicle? There is a heat exchanger on top of the exhaust where coolant flows that is leaking on my Powerboost XLT with 500 miles and 12/20 week build date.. Others on forum have had same issue. I just dropped off mine at dealer who says he has 2 other guys with same issue locally. All are brand new with low miles. Seems like they got a bad batch of those exchangers. The problem is part to fix it is on backorder with no ETA!
Yup, that's looks like mine. My dealer has part on emergency order for me. Not sure when it will come in though. For now I'm driving it and managing leak with drip pan in garage and topping off coolant level. Luckily mine is not leaking horribly yet. Some are leaking real bad and can't be driven according to dealer.I assume you are referring to this? 250 Mi on mine. Looks like it's a trip back to the dealer.

Lovely. Mine's not leaking badly as yet. I reviewed that other thread and it's definitely happening when the engine gets hotter. I moved the truck 20 feet onto the driveway and no leak all day. Back in the garage now and I bet it'll be dry all night too. Probably why I didn't notice it sooner. Any tips on brand of coolant? Already ordered the drip pan and off to the auto parts store for coolant in the morning. I opened the hood and both reservoirs looked low to me.Yup, that's looks like mine. it's leaking from engine loop so large reservoir will need filling. My dealer gave me this to fill it.Lovely. Mine's not leaking badly as yet. Looks like some of us are going to attempt to stay ahead of the inevitable recall. ?
Thanks! That’s an even better idea. Have my dealer “deal with it”!it's leaking from engine loop so large reservoir will need filling. My dealer gave me this to fill it.![]()

That 0/72 PO's me. The sales Manager at Sheehy Ashland said it was impossible to get that. This is my last truck, assuming nothing bad happens, but if it weren't I go to any other dealer in the Central VAm area to get it.Loving the space white finally got her end up getn![]()

Same issues here.Picked up yesterday. Just noticed I have quite a rust issue on my transfer case. Completely unacceptable in my book. Taking it back in soon to get it looked at.![]()
This doesn't seem to be a rare occurrence. Ford Motor has an official account here and monitors the site. They need to jump in this thread and the powerboost heat exchanger coolant leak issue.Same issues here.
